Do you think it's possible to "reserve" funds on placing an order step? Tesla doesn't know VIN, customer may change an order, customer may pick up another car or even reject a delivery.

"Binocular vision" - I mentioned it in previous posts. But it may work in front only. And don't forget, it's easy to orient on a road if we have cars around (we know what a car size in general to "predict" how far it is), lines, etc. Tesla doesn't know anything about lawn mover, for example, so...

Car may know only "possible" sizes of tagged objects on the road and "predict" a distance. It can't measure a distance. No way.

Didn't know about triple camera in front - ok, theoretically it may predict a distance in the front, if at least two cameras are looking in the same direction (you know, like Nintendo 3DS worked with "3D photos" :D, still out-dated technology in comparing with LiDAR in iPhone, but at least...

Single camera can't predict a distance on its own, but it may "predict" distance when moving, if Tesla is equipped with a proper accelerometer to track changes on very small speeds - theoretically engineers may solve this problem. But I don't see in near future any possibility this "USS...

Btw, In NJ we are receiving additional 2k rebate for EV under 55k, so picking up a car that costs +3k to my original price (53k) I'm converting it into +5k in my head. Nah, better to stick with 3750 tax credit and 2k instant rebate :)

To be clear. I don't really care about parking, but I think removing radars can cause a lot of problems with autopilot. Btw, about parking. Having so much cameras and no 360 view? 🥸 Ok, sorry for offtoping. Let's continue to track our orders and believe in fast delivery without huge scratches...
