    Missing two lightning bolt icon

I looked in the manual (RTFM is hard to remember when the manual changes on you), and it says 1 bolt is up to 70 kW and 3 bolts is above 70. It would be kind of nice to have something in between to differentiate between 6 kW destination chargers and 50kW fast chargers.

    Missing two lightning bolt icon

Maybe I messed up a setting, or this was removed with a recent update, but I no longer see the option to filter by 1,2, and 3 bolts in the charging navigation menu. 1 bolt shows only destination charging and 3 bolts shows only Tesla superchargers. Are we no longer able to see any third party...

    Rear fan not blowing heat?

Yep, I have it set to 70 and the cabin is around 60. I never noticed much of a problem in the front seats, and I'm pretty happy with how quickly the car heats up overall, but recently a rear passenger was complaining it was cold in the back, so I started obsessing over it. If I had any gripe...

    Rear fan not blowing heat?

Hmm, maybe something is wrong with my system. On auto, with a passenger in the rear, there is no air coming from the floor vents, even with the fan speed set to high (and I confirmed that the rear fan button is on). On manual, hot air blows from the floor vents AND the console vents.

    Rear fan not blowing heat?

I've experimented with the HVAC a little more, and it seems that if I use manual mode and crank up the fan speed, heat will blow from the rear center vent and from under the seats. But if I use Auto, it seems to avoid any air going through the rear vents or under seat. At least I know my fans...

    Rear fan not blowing heat?

I was checking the vents behind the center console. Do those not blow any air when heating? I had someone in the back complaining of being cold, plus I tried turning on and off the rear air manually. But if heat doesn't come out of the console vents, that would explain it.

    NO HEAT FROM FLOOR VENTS

Sorry, just realized this is the Model S forum, and I own a MYLR. But I guess my question still stands.

    NO HEAT FROM FLOOR VENTS

I thought it was my imagination, but I noticed the same thing. If I use manual heat and only select the floor, I get heat. If I select floor and dash, no heat on the floor. If I turn on recirculate, I get floor heat. Is that how it's supposed to work?

    Rear fan not blowing heat?

I just noticed today that my 2023 MYLR doesn't blow heat out of the rear vent. If I'm using A/C, it blows cold air just fine, but nothing happens when heating. Is this normal operation?

    Audio doesn't sound right...

At least in my 2023 MY LR Fremont, it sounds a little better when I bias to the rear and turn immersive sound to "high," not off or auto, otherwise the door speakers do almost nothing. Possibly unrelated, but maybe a problem with one of the front speakers: I hear what sounds like speaker...

High pitched whine at 33MPH and 49-50MPH

I'm not sure if it's the same thing you are experiencing, but I had a lot of back and forth with the shop before they ended up replacing my front motor due to being outside of spec (while initially arguing with me that it was within spec). As others have mentioned, if you only have a rear...

    Powered retractable sunshade

I've seen ones like that, including the OtriFowd FullShade 2.0, but the reviews haven't been great regarding build quality. It's also hard to tell if some of these products are just pumped out by the same factory with different names for different retailers. I might still go with a manual...

    Powered retractable sunshade

Has anyone tried installing this powered retractable sunshade? It looks like something that should have come with the car, but I'm hesitant to try installing something like this, especially since it requires routing a power cable through the trunk rubber seal. I'm worried that I'd do something...

    Speaker popping noise

Not yet. I'm so used to it, I'm not sure I'd notice if it increased or decreased in frequency, but it hasn't gone away.

    Speaker popping noise

No updates have made this any better, or worse, so far, for me. It sounds like it comes from a left front speaker, but localizing audio in a Model Y is an exercise in futility, especially when the service centers gaslight you about where the sounds come from (like for example, when they insisted...

    LH Crush Can Assembly?

They never told me why they replaced that part, but they did end up replacing the whole front motor. They said they have an app or device that measures the sound while driving, and if it goes above a certain threshold, it authorizes them to replace the motor. If I were you, I'd take the car in...

2022 MYP High Pitched Noise (40+ mph)

Congrats as well. I was hoping someone could make it through with a lemon law challenge.

Odd Noise between 20-50mph (Sounds like dentist drilling, Subway rail screeching, or a Lathe cutting metal?)

I posted this in another thread, but wanted to make sure there was visibility in this one as well: Just wanted to throw in my recent experience, with TLDR at the end: Took delivery of a 2023 MYLR in October 2022. Immediately noticed a noise like a dentist drill when accelerating. I had...

2022 MYP High Pitched Noise (40+ mph)

Just wanted to throw in my recent experience, with TLDR at the end: Took delivery of a 2023 MYLR in October 2022. Immediately noticed a noise like a dentist drill when accelerating. I had driven a couple of other LRs and never heard anything like this. I got a service appointment in...

    LH Crush Can Assembly?

Thanks, any idea why that would be replaced for what sounds like motor whine?

    LH Crush Can Assembly?

I took my 2023 MYLR in for a high-pitched noise that sounds like a dentist drill when accelerating, along with a pulsing noise when cruising. I see on the repair tracker that they are replacing the "lh crush can assembly." Any clues what this is, and why they might be replacing that?

2023 Model Y - Tesla trunk Storage bins not compatible?

I do, yep. The Tesla app kept showing the bins as not fitting, but the OtriFowd ones on Amazon worked great. I think they have an instructional video, because you really have to push one of the sides down firmly, otherwise it seems like it doesn't fit, but it goes in very snugly, and the...

2023 Model Y - Tesla trunk Storage bins not compatible?

These are the ones I ordered, and they fit perfectly, as good as OEM (better, since they actually fit).

    Speaker popping noise

The Ryzen seems to have it just as bad, so it must (?) be a software issue. Not sure why it doesn't seem to affect everyone the same way, though. I'll try to drive my brother's Model 3 and see if that does it too.

    Speaker popping noise

Well, after a test drive of another Model Y at my local Tesla dealer, I can personally confirm that the noise is not unique to my car. It happened several times on the test drive with the proximity sounds with park assist, as well as with the ding when engaging autopilot. On an unrelated note...

Frunk opening every time app is opened

I've noticed over the past few weeks that almost every time I open the Tesla app on my phone, the frunk opens. This happens whether I am at home, or, more annoyingly, when I'm out and about. If anyone else has experienced anything like this, I wanted to share some things that didn't help, and...

    Speaker popping noise

Maybe if we all put in service requests, it will eventually annoy them enough to fix it. Right?...sigh

Just updated to 2023.13.9 - Why is my MY charging?

I suspect something is buggy. For the past 2 weeks (not sure exactly which update is to blame), my MY has started charging at random times, often during peak energy hours (4-9), despite not needing to be ready until the next afternoon at 2 PM.

    Speaker popping noise

That's a good description. I couldn't tell if the autopilot and park assist sounds were coming from a separate speaker or if they shared the main speaker. It doesn't seem to matter if I'm playing music or not, the crackling sound is the same. If only I could find my floppies with the Sound...

    Speaker popping noise

Did you see if a service center would look at it? It seems absurd that a 70k+ car would have such crappy speakers. I also see that yours was delivered just 3 weeks before mine, so I wonder if it's a certain batch of cars that are affected.

    Speaker popping noise

I have mobile service coming out today to rotate tires, so maybe I'll ask them, but wondering if anyone else notices this. It seems to be independent of music playing, which happens just fine. Is there a separate speaker for the park assist and autopilot engaging sounds?
  32. T

    Speaker popping noise

Ever since my MYLR was delivered, I've noticed a popping, crackling noise from one of the internal speakers whenever it has to make sounds rapidly, like when I engage autopilot by pressing the right stalk down twice. It also makes this sound when the park assist is giving distance warnings. I...
