2023 Model x PPF and Ceramic coating cost estimates

Yes, seems to be in line. I'm not sure if Ceramic Pro Kavaca PPF is good or not though. I'm more familiar with Xpel, Suntek, Stek PPFs. But full front (hood, bumper, lights, fender, and mirror) for ~$2K (excluding full paint correction in those areas) seems average. Same thing for ceramic...

Available 2017~2023 Model X LED (SAE Up-level) headlights

I don't know if they are better than 2016 lights since I've only had 2023 Model X. The sides do light up when turning at slow speeds. They also turn on when you turn on your turn signals for switching lanes.

    Retrofit to matrix (global) headlights?

Just to report, got my 2023 Model X LR (June 2023 build) updated with matrix lights over the weekend. I missed this by ~1 week when I got my car. It did have an ethernet port. I've never done any modification to a car myself and taking off fender flares, wheel liner, side bumper (the corner...

    Retrofit to matrix (global) headlights?

So you didn't unplug any LV or first responder loop? Just unplugged the old headlight and plugged in the new one? I'm going to work on this, this weekend.

    Retrofit to matrix (global) headlights?

Ohhh didn't even know such place existed. Does that part just pull off if I wedge something in?

    Retrofit to matrix (global) headlights?

I just checked under the yoke and I have this plug. Is this H-MTD?

    Retrofit to matrix (global) headlights?

Wow that was quick Is the light output noticeable better? Worth it? Parts required assuming the Model X has ethernet port are: - Lights themselves - 6 pin to 3 pin adaptor Is that it? and then laptop/developer to reconfig?

    Retrofit to matrix (global) headlights?

Once programmed, whenever (if), Tesla does true matrix functionality like they just did in Europe with new Model 3s, will these also work?
  12. S

    Retrofit to matrix (global) headlights?

Yes, please do. Trying to see if this is worth it. I’ve never done any car work myself before other than detailing lol

Vibration on brand new Model X at about 38mph to 60mph

Wow so they do make you whole except for sales tax. I’d be short about $12K then if I were to push for this. I don’t know if a 2024 Model X would have fixed for the vibrations though. It seems like most have vibrations and a very, very few (by luck?) don’t. Unless I don’t replace with another...

Vibration on brand new Model X at about 38mph to 60mph

Sway bar won’t fix since it isn’t for me. Tires will not fix either. I would also try buyback but my guess is the $ amount I would lose is significant that I might have to just live with it. How much are they buying it back at? I assume Tesla won’t give me money back for sales tax (in TX, I...

Vibration on brand new Model X at about 38mph to 60mph

How did you get Tesla to buy back? Even with latest SW, Unplugged Performance rear sway bar, Tesla balancing all 4 tires, I also have some vibration coming through the front seats between 35-45mph range.
  19. S

Any refresh MXs out there with MPP Solid Front Lower Bearings and/or UPP rear sway bars

No, the sway bar replacement won’t solve the vibration coming through the seats. I still have some vibration if I’m accelerating a little hard (merging onto a freeway).

Any refresh MXs out there with MPP Solid Front Lower Bearings and/or UPP rear sway bars

I bought UP adjustable rear camber arms and sway bars during that “10 yr anniversary” sale. It wasn’t a Black Friday sale per se.

Model X Matrix LED Lights (Finally)

I see, so in order to swap it out, you'd need some wiring harness to convert from old to new connector. i guess? I probably won't do it, seems like a lot of work in addition to finding someone who can get the gateway config changed.
  22. S

(n00b 1st post) Enhanced Autopilot or Full Self-Driving Capability in MX, 100% software upgrade only? Or, HW too?

Enhanced or FSD are both OTA. I recommend neither at this time. I don’t think more than half of those features work on HW4. I didn’t get either in my 2023 Model X w/HW4.
  23. S

Model X Matrix LED Lights (Finally)

Hmm what about 2023 Model X right before matrix headlights? Probably the same plug as 2022?
  24. S

    Retrofit to matrix (global) headlights?

How did you get to update the config in the car with ethernet port? I read elsewhere on here (for Model 3, Y) that you need some high level engineer access to change the headlight config to global headlights in Toolbox 3. Is that not the case anymore?

Umm what was the process? Insta link just shows blinking turn signal

Any refresh MXs out there with MPP Solid Front Lower Bearings and/or UPP rear sway bars

Way better. The “shaking” is much reduced on uneven street roads even at medium setting.
  27. S

Any refresh MXs out there with MPP Solid Front Lower Bearings and/or UPP rear sway bars

I have UPP rear sway bar on my 23 Model X LR. Setting is on medium (middle hole). It is noticeably different, in a better way, than the one it came with the car. Car is way more stable through turns, going in and out of curbs when going into like a shopping plaza. I’d highly recommend it.

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Got an update to v2023.44.30.6 today. This finally solved the vibration issue in the 30-40mph acceleration range. Didn’t get any vibration right after this update.
  29. S

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Just installed Unplugged Performance adjustable rear camber arms to prevent inner tire wear and replaced the rear sway bar (set at medium). Rear sway bar definitely is noticeable. Car is very stable going around turns (doesn’t drive like a boat), less shaky going on uneven pavement, less body roll.

Model X 2023/24 Air Suspension in Park

It doesn’t go back down until you “leave the location” you set for auto raise. I do this too to High setting. It stays High while parked in my garage until I leave the vicinity of my home or hit 30 mph.
  31. S

    Retrofit to matrix (global) headlights?

Yeah I read about the 3/Ys but wanted to check if that’s the case for Model X too. I guess the hard part is changing the gateway config.
  32. S

    Retrofit to matrix (global) headlights?

Has anyone attempted retrofitting to matrix (global) headlights on the refreshed Model X? I know Tesla SC not doing it at all saying headlights are heavily regulated so they won’t touch it.
  33. S

Should I reject Model X delivery? Can all these even be fixed?

This can’t be fixed. Mine’s like this too (white). It shows most on white than like a black/darker car. Tesla said “every Model X is like this”. lol (aka “within spec”)
  34. S

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

It’s not gone gone but vibrations are much more subdued. When steadily accelerating, vibrations are gone 30-40mph. But if I do some hard accelerating (not flooring or trying to show off 0-60), there is still some vibration but it is less than originally.
  35. S

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Update: 2023.44.1 doesn’t fully eliminate vibrations when doing hard acceleration. When I say hard, I mean like merging into 55mph traffic from a yield sign but not flooring it. Doing a steady acceleration (like an ICE car), no vibrations.
  36. S

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

I just got 2023.44.1 today. Will drive tmr to see if vibration issues got fixed.

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

[Update] I just had my 3rd appt at Tesla Austin SC. Their lead tech said my half shafts are fine and the front vibration issue (including in seats) is now a widespread issue. He states Tesla Engineering is actively working on an OTA update for this and is driven by uneven torque distribution...

Vibration in Yolk at 70+ mph

I have a similar issue but not with the yoke. My vibration comese through the front two seats while accelerating crossing 30-40 mph for like a second. Tesla Floor Mats for 5 seater X

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Well... Tesla reschedules my appointment for tomorrow (to replace front half shafts) to end of October. One month push out saying they are "overbooked." Not sure how my appointment booked a month ago is all of a sudden "overbooked". I'm thinking they have bunch of new cars they need to service...

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

I see. I will get the two half shafts replaced on Thursday. I read someone's comment on YouTube about replacing front drive unit too (and half shafts) to fix vibrations. Good thing is the Austin SC is willing to do whatever it takes to fix this issue. I hope it fixes with half shaft replacement...

Recommendation for minimum PPF for Model X

Not sure because I didn't get tints right away (drove a month without any tints) and the back seat windows were burning hot to the touch in the 105F Texas heat weather. After tints, it's "warm" to touch so it did make a difference.
  48. S

Recommendation for minimum PPF for Model X

For whole car with Xpel Stealth, that's normal. I doubt you'll find something cheaper than that in NJ with Xpel Stealth film. If it's lower, probably a cheaper film or not as good installer.
  49. S

Recommendation for minimum PPF for Model X

yea, normal price would be $6-7k for Model X but according to the PPF shop (also reputable), someone had canceled at the last minute and they threw out a deal at me not knowing if I would take it or not. Of course, I took it. lol No, the tint was for every single window in the entire car...

Is it ok to use GYEON Advanced Sio2 Ceramic Coating for ventilated seats?

I thought about this too but ended up not doing it. Seats hold up fine in my opinion without it. (My Model 3 from 2018 looks fine.)
