Just make sure you get it properly inspected. I've heard of homeowner claims denied when the owner did the work themselves and didn't properly document it.

If you drive any rush-hour, AP hands down. TACC + AP makes quick work of stop & go.

No need to go with a P85 or P85D, an 85D will get you in the same 0-60 range, most people have seen 3.9-4s 0-60 on the 85D. AWD handles a bit more on rails than the P85. When I had a P85 loaner the back end wanted to get away from me a little bit in the rain, don't see the same with the 85D.

Yup, and if you look at GPUs from the lines I mentioned from that timeframe(say here GPU Performance - The Apple iPad Review (2012)) you'll see that Tegra3 really doesn't match up well. Esp in the fill rate tests where the Tesla puts the most hurt(being that it's a 1920x1200 panel, supposedly)...

Both of the other GPUs I've listed are only available as SOCs(with PowerVR from multiple vendors), there's really nothing special about the Tegra3. It was probably just a selection made on cost and Nvidia being close geographically to Tesla.

Sadly even when the Tegra3 came out it was back of the pack WRT other GPUs in the space. I love the MS but it's really a shame they didn't go with a Adreno or PowerVR part. Really curious to see what they decided to use in the X(and if they went with a different part how they plan to handle...

Not to split hairs and derail this thread any further(seeing that we don't have any new information) but with Tegra3(and a good majority of GPUs) that actually does make a difference. If I had to guess it's oscillating between regen and coast, seems to happen less on uphill and more on downhill(where you'd get positive feedback in that type of situation).

Same here after .36, 85D. Called Portland service and they hadn't heard of it yet but pulled logs and will call back with an update. I mentioned the thread and they def seemed concerned, mentioned doing a software update(maybe rollback?) if that is the root cause. A little concerned something...

Are freeway passing speeds really the gripe? I feel like my 85D has more than enough umph, the P85 loaner I drove even more. I feel like anything more puts you in triple-digit-lose-your-license territory but I guess to each his own.

I think one striking difference between the Jeep hack and Tesla is the level of engagement and willingness to work with researchers and provide a bounty program. I remember when the Jeep hack leaked Chrysler was threatening legal action rather than hiring them.

As one of the first few 85D deliveries in the PNW, +1 to everything breser has said. I think you'll find many ap owners who are happy to wait for something done right.

I'm with #FirstWorldProblems, you've got a car that's quicker than 99.9% if other cars out there. EV drive trains are inherently different. If you don't like it go back to an ICE or another EV that has better performance characteristics.

You can use neutral + ebrake for that but it's not ideal.

Tesla doesn't do model years, the hardware should be the same(camera, lidar and ultrasonics).

Sorry to hear that, the delivery process can be a bit rough. You'll probably find that like most people once you have the car you largely forget about any hiccups in the process but it would be nice for them to be a bit smoother overall.

Having driven both the P85 and 85D my experience is that the 85D handles much differently. Much more planted and "pointable". If he's comparing with an 85 its also much quicker.

Yeah, unfortunately that still leaves the brake light on if the headlights were on.

I've noticed in Park that the headlights, DRL and brake lights all stay on. Is there any easy way to turn the car "Off" without exiting the driver's seat? We regularly park and stay in the car for a while and I would rather they not stay on.
