You are correct about the top portion as a lot of factory windshields already have that part tinted. I was talking more about the whole windshield. Unless there was a new revision of the CVC recently, I'm quite certain you can't have any of the front side windows tinted unless its completely...

In CA, tint is only allowed on the rear driver's / passenger's side windows and rear window. Technically no tint is allowed on the front driver's/passenger's side windows and none on the front windshield.

Not planning on doing anything to the windshield. Will be getting 50% nano ceramic to the ceiling glass though to block out the heat.

Yes, but sometimes you will have a VIN assigned before the text goes out. I checked my app at like 5am and saw that I had a VIN. I then got a text at 7am.

What's funny is, at my delivery appointment, the SA only wanted to see my driver's license and didn't even bother with asking my wife. She was present but he only looked at my credentials and was mostly concerned about what was showing on my app.

I picked it up today! I didn't see any fitment or quality issues with my car, either. There are no creeks or rattles as of yet. It has 6 miles on the odometer and I drove about 50 miles today. It drives and handles like a dream.

I got a message to schedule delivery several hours after I got my VIN. A friend who works for Tesla ran my VIN and told me that it was sitting on the Fremont lot, getting ready to be loaded onto a trailer. So I scheduled mine even before it got loaded onto the truck.

I got some more information from a coworker who is currently a motor officer and with a detective supervisor who investigates fatal traffic collisions. - Depending on who pulls you over and what time of day, you can be cited for "unsafe vehicle" (24002 CVC), which is not a correctible...

Ordered later in the afternoon on 04/24... but app shows 04/25.

That is my configuration as well. So at least I know they're making the wht/blk combo...

Normal patrol guys probably won't care, but those guys/gals on motorcycles(traffic enforcement) are specifically out there looking for violations, and front windshield tint is one of their favorites. Just some friendly advice from an leo. And correct, if you have a medical cert for the tint...

I'm sure you already know this, but tinting the front windshield is a LEO magnet...

That's just conjecture at this point. Again, Socal, ordered 4/24, and no VIN. I'll believe it when I see it.
