    Bench Seat Handle Rattle

I have the same issue. I fashioned a Velcro strap to prevent movement. I rarely move the seat so an occasional release of the strap works well. Dirt cheap. A simple test to verify the noise was to apply painters tape the handle. photo is only ok but here it is!

2023 Model X Rear Seat Noise

My rear bench seat rattle was from the seat adjuster levers. I am referring to the sliding adjustment, not the recliner. The plastic adjuster covers are 2 piece and the lower part moves freely. There seems to be no adjustment. My solution was to fashion a Velcro strap to reduce movement. Easy...

TFL checks out the new Silverado EVs

Last winter in Wisconsin my model Y was getting less than 180 miles on super cold days. That is with 330 mile range. Buy super cold, I mean well below zero Fahrenheit. The bottom line is we all don’t live in California. Extra range is really important in Canada and the upper Midwest. It is also...

    Why not OEM tires?

Excellent tire but you may have a slight decrease in range

    Anyone able to reach Tesmanian?

This is sad. I have had good luck with them in the past. I hate to see a business decline.
  6. PJFW8

    Why not OEM tires?

I have 2.000 miles on mine. Definitely quieter and better ride than OEM. Traction good. Unsure of range. The weather has been too variable to allow for a comparison.

    PPF Yes or No?

Exactly! PPF on the bumper skin on my Y has made bug clean-off a snap. It has also resisted numerous stone nad gravel marks.

100 Amps Panel - What are my options?

I really like this option! Cheap and simple. Not a fit for my panel, but luckily I had extra slots and a free electrician!

Acceleration Boost upgrade still available for 2022 Model 3?

It is for my Model Y. I checked last Monday.

    Which NEMA Adapters to carry?

I have a 20 amp 120 volt adapter since many garage and carports have a 20 amp circuit. 5-20 It is at least 25% faster ( I have seen it 50%) and also better supports preconditioning.

A sincere effort from a hater to adapt to living in a world with Teslas

EVs, including electric planes, are inevitable. Nevertheless there are still horses even though we migrated to horseless carriages. Through your lifetime I think you will find fuel for your toys. By the way I like the same kind of toys as you do.

[UPDATED] 2 die in Tesla crash - NHTSA reports driver seat occupied

Consumer Reports should test a Dodge Hellcat by taping a brick to the accelerator then jumping out. This is as meaningful as their Tesla methodology.

Mustang Mach-E Gets Great Reviews = Model 3 Challenger

And going purely by vehicle size, the MME has considerably less storage capacity than Y. Otherwise it is fairly comparable to the Y in size. I have personally checked out the Mark E and do like it.

Red Model Y with Black or White Interior? Opinions?

Very similar. The main difference is the higher seating position and slightly slower response. It is a heavier vehicle and you can feel it. All in all I prefer the Y. Having said this if you don’t need the hatchback, additional room and don’t value a higher seating position the three makes...

General "Should I Wait for Upgrades" Thread

The phase-out of the $7500 credit had little impact on sales other than the few weeks before and after the effective date. As you consider this, income limits and a price cap are in the mix. It is all a roll of the dice!

    Charging with standard 15amp?

I completely agree. Most garages and carports have 120 service using a 20 amp breaker but with a 15 amp outlet device. Simply replacing with a 20 amp 120 volt outlet device for $2 is a big improvement. A 20 amp 240 volt outlet is a simple conversion using an existing 12 gauge wire...if there...

18" Aero wheels and Model Y load limits

18" aeros from model 3 do not meet the load needs of the Y. Also, finding an appropriate tire is difficult, I sold my 18's when I got my Y.
  19. PJFW8

    Charging with standard 15amp?

Most outdoor and garage outlets are 20 amp even if the outlet looks like a 15. For less than $2 you can get a 20 amp outlet device. First check the breaker box. If a 20 amp breaker is supplying the outlet go for it. You will need the 20 amp 120 volt plug from Tesla for the charging adapter that...

General "Should I Wait for Upgrades" Thread

The day you buy your Y, Tesla will make a change. It will not necessarily be an upgrade. It could be the elimination of the long range RWD 3, a price increase (FSD, for example), the deletion of cooled seats, as happened with the S and X. a center console change (as in the S, 3 and Y)} that was...

My first unpleasant experience with my MY

I have owned a Model 3 and now a Y. The only difference in heating performance that I have noticed is better efficiency in the Y. But I live in the mountains of North Carolina. I have driven the 3 at 0' F but the Y has not been driven below 14". Very low temperatures (from my southern...

My first unpleasant experience with my MY

Why do you assume the heat pump would take a long time? That has not been my experience. Bear in mind that the temperatures we are experiencing are in the upper teens low 20s at worst. I have not noticed a difference in performance. I have noticed a significant increase in efficiency.

Toyota to unveil EV with solid-state battery with 10-min fast-charging

It’s easy to “unveil“ a car with amazing specs. Many companies have unveiled wonderful ideas. As for Toyota, they need to actually make one.

    First Expression of MY

I agree. Viewing my $44,000 Ford Fusion plug-in was instructive. Rear and front bumper covers were paint mismatched and misaligned. The chrome window trim did not line up. Panel gaps were irregular. This was in the fourth year of the body style. It actually was a nice car.

    Induction Stoves

Faced with a similar situation, I added a "decorative accent" to my floor. Ended up looking better than the plain floor. Sorry, no pictures. This was a while back! Be creative!
  28. PJFW8

    Induction Stoves

Induction stove tops are great. One caution however. If you have a pacemaker or implanted defibrillator, you must stay more than 2 feet away from an induction cooktop. Failure to do so could be extremely dangerous.

    Biden and EV credit

It may be a while until the credit is restored, especially if Republicans retain control of the Senate. Also, there will be liberal pressure to put income limits on the credit and perhaps a cap excluding Tesla as is done in Europe and Canada. If you want a Y, don't wait.

Red Model Y with Black or White Interior? Opinions?

I have a white interior but if I were to keep a car 10 years I probably wouldn’t chance it.

Speeding Tesla driver caught napping behind the wheel on Alberta highway

Perhaps. Orange trick never worked for me. My guess is the caller lied or the Tesla driver was spoofing!

Speeding Tesla driver caught napping behind the wheel on Alberta highway

    B. S. That is not possible! The "nag" would stop the car after a couple of minutes. How did the caller note that the driver and passenger were apparently asleep at 140km/h? Fully reclined? How do you see that? Does not pass the smell test!

Red Model Y with Black or White Interior? Opinions?

I traded a red 3/ black interior on a red Y with white. I like it and have had many compliments. The only negative is comment was with cleaning. I do not share these concerns. My seats are ceramic coated. (Ceramic Pro).

Model S range and interior update imminent?

Why not five? I’m not sure where they would put the extra wheel. How about a powered spare tire that follows the car automatically? I’m not sure there is a magic number of motors.

Lucid Air Will Be Better Than Model S, Says Former Tesla Engineer

EA charging network was shut down last weekend on the I-95 corridor for upgrades. They do not have a reputation for reliability. It will take several years before they catch up with Tesla. On the other hand that’s probably about the time they’ll be needed for a more general adoption of EV‘s. For...

Lucid Air Will Be Better Than Model S, Says Former Tesla Engineer

Their production capacity is modest. a few thousand to start and a few tens of thousands a year later. Their target is the Mercedes S class customer. Zero threat to Tesla. Perhaps it will inspire Tesla to produce a true luxury model S. Still, very impressive specs!

    Cabin air filter change tip

I used the Tesla part. (If memory serves it was made by Bosch) After market filters are of unknown and inconsistent quality. Why take a chance? The Tesla part is not overpriced.
