Known bug, or just mine? Double speed limit icon

Yes, they overlap. And oddly they are slightly different shapes. The "bottom" one has more rounded corners than the "top" one. Assuming the app is accurate I have 2023.27.12 / FSD Beta v11.4.8.1

Is there a way to 1) adjust suspension and 2) change follow distance on the fly?

hmm... thank you. Not what I wanted to hear, but thank you.

Is there a way to 1) adjust suspension and 2) change follow distance on the fly?

    1) Suspension: I'm coming up to a speed bump in traffic and want to adjust. How do I do that without going through menus? I thought I could assign a long-press of the left button, but it just says "raising suspension unavailable" or something like that. 2) Follow distance: In my Model 3...

Another bug? Fasten seatbelt when it is (but only after watching a full screen video)

Can anyone confirm they can repeat this in a stalkless model S? Sit in the car, buckle up with the auto-shift feature on (where you just have to tap the brake and the car guesses if you want to go forward or reverse). Now launch a browser and go to abettertheatre.com and launch something in...

Known bug, or just mine? Double speed limit icon

My 2019 Model 3 didn't have this. This 2023 Model S has me going, "hmmm" So it shows a speed limit icon, and then sometimes (not all the time) another one pops up overtop of it but offset slightly up and left of the original. It shows the exact same speed, so I don't think its trying to...

    I can't decide!! Used S vs new Y

Yes, full Xpel Stealth wrap. Sadly, I've already damaged the wrap and took a rock to an unwrapped part. Sigh.

I dunno, I don't think that will be helpful at this point

    I'll get right on that

Canadian vs. American model Y... why the range difference?

I hear you on the customer service/delivery experience. But not on your ESS or stalk issue. I ended to waking away from my model y delivery because of the shitty service. I got a used S privately instead. I like the product... but the company so must.

    2023 Model S and 245/45R19 square?

With the limited info and time, I ended up buying a second set of factory wheels before driving home through the mountains in the snow on my factory tires. It didn't actually address my problem at all lol. I still don't have winter tires, just 2x all seasons on factory rims. But it seemed...

Thanks for asking. It was a long day :) I just got home with my new-to-me 2023 Model S. Going to bed now :)

Yeah, not enough info. Thanks. I'll pass on these.

Sorry, I didn't mention that the listings are for tires on rims

    2023 Model S and 245/45R19 square?

Sorry, I would normally be doing my own research but I'm on the road with a tiny phone and spotty connectivity. The 2023 used staggered 255/45R19 and 285/40R19 I believe. I need winter tires and I see a lot of listings for 4x 245/45R19 Is this a suitable setup? Facts only please, but...

I agree that the X ticks off a lot of boxes. I looked. Just none in a price and/or age I would consider.

    I can't decide!! Used S vs new Y

https://globalnews.ca/news/4327463/house-fire-west-kelowna/ Despite the news attempting to draw bait by referencing the Tesla, the fire started in the basement at the electric panel and the car wasn't even charging. Even though it may not look that bad from the picture in the article, the...

I'll not afraid of change:). Looking forward to the stalkless yoke, actually. And I'm done looking. I'm driving home with one of them tomorrow :)

    I can't decide!! Used S vs new Y

While that is objectively true... I've owned a lot of cars, and the Model 3 was by far the best one I've ever owned other than my previous Model S. So even a "low end Tesla product" is still pretty friggin awesome.
  23. bcsteeve

    I can't decide!! Used S vs new Y

Bonus!! The S for sale actually has 16,000km not 25,000km. He put 25,000 "to be safe" lol

    I can't decide!! Used S vs new Y

I'm not sure I get your point on the 5+ year old used car. That wasn't one of the options :). Of course, I agree with you that it wouldn't make sense to buy a 5+ year old car for the same price as a new similar one (I think you misread something).
  25. bcsteeve

    I can't decide!! Used S vs new Y

Thanks! No :) I'm done with the 3. It never should have been a sedan. It should have always been a hatch. But also, I'm done with waiting. I could wait for Highland, or Juniper, or the next S refresh, or the Cybertruck, or the "Model 2", or for a legacy brand to make a compelling...

    I can't decide!! Used S vs new Y

I appreciate your reply, thank you. Good to know the Y is comfortable for road tripping. As for floor/seat height... I do get that. My knees aren't the best, and I admit it took me awhile to adjust to both my S and 3 in that respect. But I did adjust. And when it comes to driving, the lower...

    I can't decide!! Used S vs new Y

You're not wrong. The safer decision is the Y, for sure. I don't have to fight with the insurance co, and it probably does suit our day-to-day needs a bit better. But... I miss my S :) And this seems like a genuinely good deal. Sigh, I remain torn. The insurance co got back to me an hour...

    I can't decide!! Used S vs new Y

My wife hated both my S and 3... she actually prefers her Chevy Bolt, if you can believe it. It is easier to get in/out, holds more (than the 3) and is easier to park (than the S) and has better visibility (than both, cameras aside). I might even agree with her, if I squint... if it weren't...

    I can't decide!! Used S vs new Y

Lol, my wife would kill me if I was still at this 6 months from now. I get the "been there done that" feeling. I took a hard look at every non-Tesla option, because frankly I'm a bit sick of this company, shitty customer service, and whack-job leadership. And the fact that they STILL haven't...
  31. bcsteeve

    I can't decide!! Used S vs new Y

Actually you make a good point. My wife is only 5'2 and perhaps the S passenger seat can move forward more than the 3 can. He sits behind her because there's more room. He's getting taller, but she won't be :) Ok, so the new question: Which car has more rear leg room on the passenger side...

    I can't decide!! Used S vs new Y

Ok, but an 8 year old S is lacking a lot of what every Model Y has, in terms of build quality and tech (and range). A lot has changed in 8 years though. The range, acceleration and ride quality (though I've never driven a Y) are probably the answers to that question. And not for nothing...
  33. bcsteeve

    I can't decide!! Used S vs new Y

Really? As I said, I've had both. In my opinion, my 2015 S was superior to my 2019 3 in every single way other than my 3 had FSD and my S didn't. Suspension is a bajillion times better. And it was sooooo much faster. The acceleration was insane (figuratively and by name) while the 3 isn't...
  34. bcsteeve

    I can't decide!! Used S vs new Y

It isn't quite as simple as the title suggests. My M3 was written off. I have two insurance policies. The first already paid me what they said the depreciated value was. The second pays me the difference between whatever I buy, and what the first policy paid me, up to the value of a black...

Canadian vs. American model Y... why the range difference?

Careful on the misinformation, @Lumens. I don't think that's correct. You seem to be mistaking the LFP batteries (which are charged to 100%) and the batteries that are going into these LR model Ys from China, which are not a different chemistry, just a different manufacturer. Still need to...

    Loyalty discount on inventory?

That better not be my experience! They told me I had to pick a window of the 13th, 14th or 15th (I wanted the 21st). I picked the 14th and I've got airfare and accommodations booked. I'm going to be there. The car had better be as well. Interesting about "car is insured". It must work...

Purchasing experience is SO much worse than it was a few years ago

You're bang on. Tesla is focused on their loud shareholder core, who only care about short term performance. Long term, this is going to bite them. The parade of salivating people wanting your product amid zero competition is not going to last forever. Loyalty will matter. Customer service...

    Loyalty discount on inventory?

One way is to take delivery by the end of the year. That has nothing to do with the loyalty thing... that's just the current promo.

Purchasing experience is SO much worse than it was a few years ago

Yeah, I still have no idea if I wasted money on the airfare and hotel because the car may or may not be there. No idea if I can get winter tires for the trip back. Safety first, right? I

Does Tesla provide ICBC insurance in house?

Yes, much of it is too US-centric. For example, the support number to try to get this answered ends in "I'm sorry, 00000 is not a valid zip code. Goodbye" lol Sometimes I shake my head and just say, "elon, elon, elon... figure your @#$% out buddy".

Does Tesla provide ICBC insurance in house?

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but did it go ok? I'm flying down in a couple of weeks to pick up from Richmond. I see in the app that it says to have my insurance policy ready? Huh? Cart before the horse, Tesla. Every dealership purchase I've ever made, including twice at Tesla, has been...

How much to bring to my delivery appointment?

It is just insane that I'm asking this on a forum... but I can't seem to get hold of anyone at Tesla, so here I am. I have been super disappointed with the sales experience this time round (compared to my 2015 and 2019 experiences). Anyway, this time what enticed me to pull the trigger now was...

    Black and white seats... regrets?

In the same way you're saying I'm making a mistake by comparing to Hyundai... you're making a mistake by using BMW as a justification lol. Absolutely no manufacturer should be looking at BMW as a model for how to do something right.

Purchasing experience is SO much worse than it was a few years ago

The terrible experience continues lol I finally got the app to work and I go to confirm a delivery date of the 21st. No, it has to be the 13th, 14th or 15th. yeah, whatever, Fine. I hope my boss lets me have the day off and I book the airfare and hotel. Then.. THEN... after I've...

Purchasing experience is SO much worse than it was a few years ago

I bought a 2015 Model S and the purchase, delivery, and service experience was so very good. I bought a 2019 Model 3 and the purchase went fine, but the delivery was so meh. Service was ok. I'm just now trying so hard to buy a 2023 Model Y and it is OMG like pulling teeth! Firstly: out of...

Off topic, but I'm surprised that in 2023 a $30k Hyundai has cooled seats and a $80k Tesla doesn't.

    Black and white seats... regrets?

Hi everyone. I didn't mean to start a cold war. I just wondered if people who own the white seats had regretted their decision. Evidently not. Good enough for me. Thanks.
