    Concidering CPO P85+

I bought my CPO P85+ last year. It's been a fantastic experience. The suspension is more compliant over rough roads than my Formula Firebird with WS6 suspension. Yet it handles amazingly! The acceleration is phenomenal. It's just a blast to drive.

    Advice Travelling the I-81 Corridor?

Congrats on your P100D Model X @DillyBop. Wow! On the way down, we hit Wytheville at lunchtime, ate at Shoney's, and had charged to 100%, or at least close, by the time we finished. No problem at all making it to Knoxville. I generally drive at speed limit +5 or 10 and I kept the air...

    Buying a CPO....advice needed

I'd also suggest that you map your trip to your cottage with evtripplanner.com. You may find that the range you need in "rated miles" is higher or lower than the actual distance to the cabin. That might affect your decision.

    Slacker Favorite Stations keep disappear

This happens to me too. Arbitrary favorites are missing every time I turn on the car. I have to go back to Recently Played to add them again. This seems at least partly correlated with the artwork for a particular favorite not being downloaded. The number and identity of unfavorited items...

    Buying a CPO....advice needed

Welcome to the forum @apples23 ! For only $4k more not only do you get the larger battery but it's a year newer. I think that fit and finished improved a lot from 2013 to 2014. Also, some nice enhancements were phased in that you might appreciate. And you like the way it looks better...

    Maryland BGE Home charging program

I asked BGE about it too and the rate differential for daytime rates would have increased our total bill. I drive 30-50 miles per day so I'm not using a lot of energy. I have electric A/C and a gas furnace. I gave BGE feedback that the rate structure made no sense.

Update to the Supercharger network policies

Well, I'm just pointing out a possible effect of this policy, I'm not saying it's right or wrong. But I would say that since these people are PAYING for the supercharging, if it is priced correctly, then Tesla will have the resources to build the appropriate infrastructure to ensure there is...

Update to the Supercharger network policies

A lot of posts view this policy as a detriment to local charging. I may be in the minority, but it would have the opposite effect on me. If I lived in a place where it was difficult or impossible to install home charging, I'd be more inclined to buy a Tesla now knowing that the existing local...

Best way to Overnight Charge when Visiting Family/Friends?

With a supercharger 40-60 miles away, I agree that you may not need to charge at all, even in a 60. Just charge enough for the round trip at the supercharger. If you do drive around town a lot then PlugShare is an excellent resource to find charging. You can add 18 miles of range in an hour on...

Update to the Supercharger network policies

The 400 kWh is annual. So a $55 oil change every year, I guess. I would also easily blow through that amount in travel every year. I probably do 2-3,000 miles of trips per year which will only increase due to how much I enjoy the Tesla. Still, my reaction is that if they do, indeed, use the $...

    Supercharger - Birmingham, AL

That's really generous, thanks. Hopefully it won't be necessary the next time we go to Alabama, prob next spring or summer... Our trip: We left Tuscaloosa at almost 100% in my P85+, 258 RM. Only made a quick stop at a rest stop. Arrived at the Chattanooga SuC with 33 RM left, total of 211.3 mi...

    Supercharger - Birmingham, AL

Yes, I used that charger when we visited Alabama in August. It is in the parking lot behind what I remember was Jimmy Johns but what Google Maps is now showing as Insomnia Cookies. Access from 11th Ave. It took me forever to figure out where this was, the pin in PlugShare is wrong. In this...

Which Service Center? Rockville, MD or Tyson's Corner, VA?

I'd say traffic to the Rockville location is tough after about 3 - any other time, even in the AM rush, should be fine. If you want to wait at the SC while they work on your car, there's not much to do where the SC is. Though they'd probably give you a ride to Rockville Town Square where there...

Which Service Center? Rockville, MD or Tyson's Corner, VA?

I'd say it depends on when you expect to take your car in. I wouldn't want to deal with rush hour traffic into/out of Virginia. Going from Chevy Chase to northern Rockville is very easy in the morning, not so much in the afternoon. I don't have experience with Tysons SC but Rockville has been...

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

I'm still on 7.1. I have a much smaller library than others in this thread - I only started ripping my CDs to FLAC in anticipation of getting my Model S. (I would just play my actual CDs previously, both in my vehicle or in my computer at work.) I use Slacker and Tune In and sometimes...

    Home Charging Best Practices

It's my understanding that charging on a 120V circuit uses 50% more energy than charging on a Level 2 circuit like your 240V NEMA 14-50 outlet. You used to be able to see that on Tesla's website on the charging calculator. I don't know if it's still there, I haven't looked at it in a while. You...

Supercharger - Bethesda, MD (Permanently Closed, Oct 2016)

I opened up Places on my Nav just now, showing someone how I can find superchargers. Bethesda was not on the list! Strange - signs notifying people of decommissioning at the end of the month had been posted there previously but now that Laurel's open it's just quietly decommissioned with little...

    Supercharger - Birmingham, AL

This is great news! Travelling to Tuscaloosa from the NE was quite a challenge. We had to range charge at the Chattanooga airport (not much to do there), then I had to drive 5 mph under the speed limit across Alabama. We arrived in Tuscaloosa with 28 RM. Going back home was a similar challenge...

    Supercharger - Laurel, MD

Depends on what you like. My opinions: I'll third the two recommendations of Nando's. I haven't been to the one in Laurel but I've been to the downtown Silver Spring location several times. Mission BBQ is good and pretty quick. I like customizing my pizza at Blaze and it's pretty quick. I...

It was great meeting some of you yesterday. I didn't realize BJs was the lunch plan but probably would have been tough with my daughters there anyway. We went to Blaze pizza and it was delicious, as always. And I was home in time for the second quarter of the Redskins victory over the Giants...

Well, as long as we're going this route, what if Tesla installed the camera from the AP sensor suite in each supercharger. Non-Tesla vehicles ICEing the spot could be easily recognized and the supercharger has plenty of power to ZAP!

Is it too late to get in on this action? Johnny, what's the prize package? I'd guess 15-Oct-2016 (someone observed how no one included the year). It would be unfair to guess this weekend given the insider information from recent posts and it would be kind of a jerk move to pick one day...

    P85+ Battery Range @ 90% and 100%

Travelled into the charging desert of northern Alabama last month, so I range charged at the supercharger in Chattanooga (why would they put a supercharger at an airport in a city as interesting to visit as Chattanooga?). The last little bit of charging was veeeeeery slow and we were ready to...

Picked up new MS, rear-ended the next day

If the Escalade had hit you two days ago in your old vehicle the result may have been far more tragic than bent metal and a sore neck. First Tesla - "Meh" experience so far

Good question. I applied with Alliant on March 31 and got the approval at the beginning of April. I purchased a CPO which was delivered early May. I ended up asking Alliant to process the check the day before I picked up the car to avoid having my credit run again. I believe the approval was...

Poke a hole in my strategy... POLL

I say C, if the car is on its way, enjoy. Hedging a 2nd order seems like a reasonable way to cut a few days off of the delivery time of a new car if you decide to cancel the original order and lose the $2,500. In your original analysis, you mentioned taking the $7,500 credit twice. However...

First Tesla - "Meh" experience so far

That's strange. I got approved by Alliant and a couple of other vendors before I even ordered. I wanted to be sure I was approved and had a reasonable rate before I made the commitment. When the car was ready to be picked up Alliant sent the check to Tesla.

Not so sure anymore if I should get the P100D when I read all these threads...

My service experience has also been terrific. I drove an M3 in the 90s and had a very good experience with BMW service The Tesla experience has been a little better. The way I see it when you buy the P100D you're paying for the engineering and performance of the vehicle itself. 2.5 sec 0-60...

Congrats on your purchase. Hope the ownership experience will be better than the ordering experience thus far. FWIW, I recently drove to Tuscaloosa. I did that drive over the weekend. If you're not familiar: The Triadelphia Supercharger is at a Hampton Inn up a hill from the restaurants that are listed on the Tesla website. It's a 5-10 minute walk but there is no sidewalk. Many of the restaurants are across a major road. Nav routed me...

    Advice Travelling the I-81 Corridor?

Thanks guys. I was wondering about elevation. I thought EV Trip Planner took that into account but I'll find out how well. I'm definitely being conservative since it's my first trip. I'm taking my first Tesla road trip tomorrow! Travelling from Maryland to Alabama, planning on taking the I-81 corridor. A perusal of threads here has given me a few tips. Where to charge in Tuscaloosa or Birmingham?

I'm travelling to Tuscaloosa and PlugShare shows very few charging locations.
