I agree.
Right now it's almost like there aren't enough accidents/cars in service to cause a fervor and overall consternation. It's only us who have dealt with or are dealing with our Tesla's in body shops to understand the need for change. Once the Model 3 comes, this number will go up...
Thanks for that data - very interesting. Do you have any more numbers to provide (avg. selling prices etc.?)
That makes sense that Tesla is discounting by that much, but does this affect net aftermarket value?
Aside from approving more body shops, I wish Tesla would bring body work in-house, to their service centers. Tesla should hire and train their own body work specialists and scale as necessary. Certain parts would still be taking weeks (this is a separate issue, and maybe bigger) but at least the...
You will be waiting months, if not years, for your repair to be ready.
My advice: buy a brand new Tesla. When your old one is finally ready, if you haven't died yet, you can sell it in the after-market.
Lol just 2 months? I've been waiting over FIVE months. At least i've been loaned an old Model S, but this is still a nightmare.
And requesting a 'free equivalent or better Tesla' while waiting is a pipe dream. If they had extra MXs to loan, then you wouldn't be waiting for parts in the first place.
I'd be more understanding if it was a MX-specific part, like the windshield, as they are really trying to deliver Xs. But the rivets have been in the vehicle family since.... forever?
Elon - just buy the company and bring rivet production in-house.
My MX has been stuck in the body shop for WEEKS waiting for "rivets" from Tesla.
A quick search of other forums showed me this has been a problem for others, including Model S owners, since at least January! I've been told is Tesla is aware they have a serious issue with these parts, but damn...
Elon Musk stated on the conference call yesterday that last Friday 3AM was the first "perfect" MX to come off the production line. The first with no flaws. Then several more perfect MXs came off the line.
Tesla seems like it has been great on post-delivery repairs, but this is good news for...
A better question is how would the X drive through long, deep puddles. Here in South Florida, street flooding occurs frequently. Going through these has caused damage to my previous SUVs.
Bringing the discussion back to the wheels, i'd still like opinions on the style choices to be offered.
Also, has anyone put on aftermarket wheels on their Model S? I imagine the same companies will sell wheels for the MX.
I noticed the Signatures only come with the Silver wheels. Does anyone think the Model X won't have the same style options as MS? I'm hoping they include Grey Turbine.
