2015 85D Model S - Supercharhing is slower these days

My 2015 MS has 81k on it. It used to be much faster when supercharhing but in the last year the rate is much slower. I will take a couple of hours to fill up at a supercharger while my friends new MY takes about 30 minutes. Are they throttling the supercharging for Cara with unlimited...

Wiki Consolidated eMMC Thread (MCU repair) (Black Center Screen)

Another MCU1 failure here. My car only has 40k on it and I believe this has been failing for a while now. Over the last year I have been having to reboot the MCU1 to get it to play music. It seems like this is a huge issue for so many people. Do you think Tesla will step up and support the...

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

Anyone know If my MCU1 fails on a car under warranty will they replace it with an MCU1 or MCU2? Wondering if they would take the opportunity to improve the cars of just install an equivalent or offer a reduced price for MCU2? Cheers

Rebooted MCU Display Not Responding $1948 Bill

Update: I got the following message from Tesla Good Morning, Our technicians have been working on trying to restore your MCU and are continuing to do so. With this being said if we are able to restore the MCU, there will be a diagnosis charge of $195/hr general diagnosis plus the software...

    I think they're replacing our MCU1 in our 2015 S with a MCU2! [Update: Not MCU2]

What a clusterF#&@. This seems to be an issue with every MCU1. Isn’t this something that should fall under a recall?

    I think they're replacing our MCU1 in our 2015 S with a MCU2! [Update: Not MCU2]

I am very interested in this as my MCU just went dead and they told me to pay $1984 for an MCU1 or come pick it up.

Rebooted MCU Display Not Responding $1948 Bill

Update: I did not hear back from Tesla after I inquired why they think it was my monitor that went bad. Today I asked for an update and was told. “We are waiting for approval to replace the MCU” I inquired if this was MCU1 or MCU2. Their response: “This will not be the MCU2. Unfortunately...

Rebooted MCU Display Not Responding $1948 Bill

Yesterday my streaming music had a loading error. Everything else on the monitor worked (mapping, camera, phone). I noticed I couldn’t get the FM radio to work either so, per Tesla’s recommendation, I held down both scroll wheels for 30 seconds. The MCU rebooted but the screen never came back...

Anyone regret having a Powerwall installed?

That’s OK. I posted the question and I live in CA so it is very relevant information for me.
  15. GuyGadois

Anyone regret having a Powerwall installed?

I am also located in CA and wasn't told this by Tesla. It does seem very limiting and seems to change the ROI for the system. It seems like charging the batteries while the electricity is cheapest makes a ton of sense. How much of a difference does everyone think this makes? Any way to tell...

Anyone regret having a Powerwall installed?

I have a quote from Tesla and am seriously considering adding two Powerwalls 2.0 to go with my existing Solar and Model S. I have read a lot of positive things online and on the site but really would be interested in hearing if anyone regrets having a Powerwall installed and why. Thanks for your...

School me on PowerWall incentives for CA (PG&E)

I am trying to understand the current incentives that I can count on if I bite the bullet and buy the quoted Tesla PowerWall (2 walls). 1. What exactly should I count on receiving as incentive when I purchase. What Federal, State (California) and Utility (PG&E) incentive are available (and...

    NEMA 14-50 Meltdown

    Apple Car Play?

Just curious, have you ever used CarPlay? I was really impressed with it. My 2016 Toyota Tacoma has a better infotainment system then my Model S.

    Apple Car Play?

Tesla, concentrate on what you do best and use CarPlay from Apple. It is all around a better entertainment and connectivity system then your homegrown system. It isn’t perfect but it allows you to take your resources off of your buggy and antiquated infotainment system and apply them to other...

    Holster mounting options?

Those are all little guns. How about a holster for something like a bazooka. I'm from California and I can't believe you all settle for little handguns for protection when a bazooka is available.

I really would like a charging reminder. I would like to be able to set the time it reminds me (for me it is after 11:00pm energy is cheapest) and be able to set the battery threshold it reminds me at (for me when the battery is under 60% charge). I would like a text message when both these...

PGE Rates comparison tool? (E-6 vs EV-A)

I use PGE toolkit and it does work on the most recent apple release for me. LOVE the app. I check it out monthly. It made me make a change to a different rate plan. Love it. Not associated with the developer at all. Just a fan.

@Jdeck Is there any way to text me if my car isn't plugged in at XX time? I often forget to plug it in (because I may go back out for a errand) and wake up the next morning and say "grrrrr". I would like to specify time and level threshold (anytime after 10pm and below 70% for example)...

    Air suspension

Not recommended. The change in camber will eat your tires. Use it for curbs, easier to get out, doors not hitting curbs when opened, speed bumps, and steep driveways like mine where it will scrape if not elevated..

    2017 Tacoma vs Tesla - Entertainment/Phone System

I bought for the car but am amazed that the entertainment system and phone aren't up to snuff on what's available in a pickup truck (or Camry for that). I love the car but can't believe how behind the entertainment system is. But hey, my Truck does have any Easter eggs hidden in the...

    2017 Tacoma vs Tesla - Entertainment/Phone System

Ha! Again, missing the point of my post about the entertainment/phone system. Actually 39k out the door. I opted for the Off road version because our cabin has lots of trails and off-road fun around it. Yeah, gas mileage isn't very good. The Tacoma, though, is a good truck and there is a...

I got 2.42.40 and the USB does show up but each time I get in my car it has to reload the USB fob and that takes about 45 minutes to load. It never was able to fully load in previous version so I guess it is improved but still not useable.

    2017 Tacoma vs Tesla - Entertainment/Phone System

I own a Model S that I purchased in December 2015 and just purchased a 2017 Tacoma TRD Offroad. I am surprised about how much better certain parts of the entertainment system in the Tacoma than my beloved Model S. My model S was about 105k and the Tacoma about 40k. Here are some of the items...

    Quick Q on Geico

Yeah, my VIN was recognized. I was hit a few months ago and the closest shop to me (1.5 hours away) has a policy on the wall that says they do not accept Geico. If you intend to use Geico you have to pay cash and try to get reimbursed by them. Yikes.
