I regret my Model Y purchase because of seat comfort and seating position problems

I can’t find an answer on this. I personally had to ditch my model 3 (2020) due to the seats being really bad (exactly as described by the OP). Hurt my back and legs. I am 6’1” but longer legs, less torso. (And also, the car was too low for my bad back) I sat in my friends 2023 model y...

    NEMA 14-50 8 gauge wire

So I did that with a buddies RV. I have no idea why I had a 6-50 to 14-50 adapter laying around, but in my ignorance decided to just use it. The RVs inverter literally burst into flames. I still have no idea why the inverter blew, but it happened!

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

verified fitment on fronts is 9.5J ET35. A member verified that 9.5 et40 hits struts in front and does not fit. If you go to 10" from 9.5, you lose another .25 inches on the inside, and this is too much (based on et40 being only .2in further towards strut than et35) someone ran 10.5J ET40 in...

Saw this in the parking lot. Serious deep dish!

Does anyone have Michelin MXM4 on their 19" wheels?

They are on closeout at tirerack.com right now. I was able to get Americas Tire to Price match, so right now they are a super bargain (since the p7+ II's came out)

Does anyone have Michelin MXM4 on their 19" wheels?

Pirelli P7+. If all you are looking for is long life (UTQG700) and quiet ride, then this is the tire for you. I did exhaustive research too, and on top of maintaining range not sure why you are still looking.

Does anyone have Michelin MXM4 on their 19" wheels?

Update: I was going to fit new 19's with Michelin MXM4's to keep from possibly losing range. For lack of info on my original question, I pulled the trigger and bought 19" wheels with Pirell's p7+'s (and crossed my fingers.) After 1000 miles on the OEM michelins and 500 miles on the Pirellis, Im...

Aftermarker Sound Upgrade of 3 Front 4" speakers

definitely worth it since a downfiring sub enclosure fits right in the storage cubby. But I am a total bass head.

Just got car - noticing more body roll on twisty roads than usual

I came to this thread looking for perspective on the handling. It’s interesting that people bring up professional drivers... autocross... mooses and track numbers and such…But I was definitely feeling that there are some issues in the way the car (feels like it) handles. No I don’t think I have...

19x9 vs 19x9.5 daily driving efficiency loss.

Nice. Looks real good. I’m really interested in a 19x9” and the shop is offering a deal on 235’s, so I’m all messed up right now. Should I pass up the deal? I also don’t really want the larger diameter tire... I think?

19x9 vs 19x9.5 daily driving efficiency loss.

did you decide on anything? Wondering if you have any data to share. I would have thought that going up half an inch wouldn't affect range that much. I'm pretty sure tire sizes are what matters most.

Does anyone have Michelin MXM4 on their 19" wheels?

Sweet. Definitely heard great things on the forum.... Apparently users are happy with them. But no one has mentioned efficiency.

Does anyone have Michelin MXM4 on their 19" wheels?

The OEM Continental Procontacts are probably less efficient based on the lack of LRR and softer compound (low utqg). @rxlawdude and many others for some reason defaulted to Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ when replacing the MXM4’s (top tire rack recommendation and Costco specials were mentioned)...

Does anyone have Michelin MXM4 on their 19" wheels?

since I’m in the “tires matter” club, summer tires will always wreck efficiency. In fact, the Michelin Pilot Sports 4s are even listed as having an eco-focus which is hilarious (esp considering a UTQG of 300). Others have gone with non LRR All Season tires (Continental DWS06 @Beaver from the...

    Aero wheels on P3D+

the conversation gets complicated when you talk about highway. The same thing happens when people discuss the aero hubcaps.... they don’t see any gain around town. According to what I have been reading about for hours on end, there isn’t any much of a change when going up (or down) in size or...

Does anyone have Michelin MXM4 on their 19" wheels?

yes, the 19's come with continental procontact RX's. It is true that the MXM4's are disliked over at tirerack.com, but there are plenty of people here that acknowledge its benefits in the low rolling resistance dept. Its also one of the quietist tires out there, and the handling isn't that bad...

Does anyone have Michelin MXM4 on their 19" wheels?

There are very few people on these forums that agree with you. @Daniel in SD kept 18" (aftermarket ~2 lbs lighter per wheel) and changed tires from stock MXM4 to Michelin PS4S. He lost about 15% efficiency. @AlanSubie4Life went from 20" to 18" wheels AND decreased the weight at each corner...

Does anyone have Michelin MXM4 on their 19" wheels?

There has been a ton of discussion regarding 18" vs 19" wheels, and its obvious there is an efficiency hit. But, after about literally 12 hours of reading about wheels and tires I cant find anyone who can compare apples to apples. The general consensus is that tires are very important for...

Aftermarket wheels that improved efficiency range

ever seen someone with 20” wheels run a LRR tire? It seems that wheels size correlated with desire for performance. Even people running 19’s rarely ever talk about tires that are efficient. They want max performance

What are the real differences in OEM M3 Performance suspension

my problem in the past with aftermarket is that you have no idea how the car characteristics will change, just the words of others. What ends up happening to me (ironically) is that people will say so and so spring is bone jarring/stiffer etc and then after the swap it’s obviously not the case...

What are the real differences in OEM M3 Performance suspension

Earlier you convinced me that the P3D+ was lower due to the link geometry and that otherwise all models had the same basic spring characteristics (despite wildly different part #'s across the board, even within like models) Did you find evidence for the contrary?

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

I can almost agree with the move, as who wouldn’t want to make more money by stocking higher profit vehicles... except they displaced SR+ ‘s on the assembly line. Im sorry if any here gets bumped

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

I dont get it. Is it so hard for Tesla to count the number or pre-orders they have and make the correct number of cars? Either they have the worst database system on earth, or they are purposely making more LR's that SR+'s so that maybe a few of us crack under pressure at the last minute and...

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

Same. Dates in email were for "unavailable". Im leaving for Chicago, so its Dec 22 for me or bust. So the inevitable $1875 question: How many of you will eat the 20 Benjamins and take delivery after the 31st... and how many will cancel? Ill have to cancel. Along with the random $500 price...

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

Whats really going to suck, is that Tesla might be over booking this flight (here in CA) and someone is going to get bumped. Imaging ordering today and getting a Dec 31st delivery date, only to have it change at the last minute to March. Hope not!

Aftermarker Sound Upgrade of 3 Front 4" speakers

I’m glad you worked through these complexities with me, and that we agree. Adding a tweeter would not be what I think solves the problems either. I’d be interested in seeing your sweeps, although I can seriously doubt that the tweeters would pick up perfectly where the stock midranges fall off...

Aftermarker Sound Upgrade of 3 Front 4" speakers

Sorry, this was In response to smajicmans (see above). However, to piggyback on what you were saying, it seems as if the mirror tweeter upgrade may not be as worth it as some say it is. Let me explain. On one hand, I have been a critic of the Bose cube model because the 2.5” cube driver was...

Volkswagen Is Ordered to Recall Nearly 500,000 Vehicles Over Emissions Software

I went back and the low end was indeed .7g/mi. The HIGH end of real world testing yielded 1.5g/mi of NOx emission which would yield an average of 1.1g/mi. I STILL reject the idea of comparing real world values with the EPA test cycle. But if you want to compromise, then Ill give you 1 TDI = 5...

Volkswagen Is Ordered to Recall Nearly 500,000 Vehicles Over Emissions Software

the only thing I don't necessarily agree with mathematically is comparing the TDI's maximum NOx violation with the useful life standard of other vehicles. Of course correct me if I'm wrong, I'm pretty sure the EPA's limits don't pertain to rural uphill driving conditions. The VW TDI engine...
