    That's not how it works. The car displays current rated miles based on the current capacity of the battery. The only way to find actual miles is by driving it from full to empty.

    You can't compare that 164 "actual" miles to 140 "rated". That 164 miles of actual range is out of a new car rated range of 208. If your car is showing 140 rated then your actual is only going to be less than 100.

    S60s had a rated range of 208 when new, 140 now is pretty bad. The 60 batteries were crap. Between that and the issues surrounding Supercharging, I wouldn't touch a 60 for any price.

    Forget about Chademo, it's a dying standard. No changes are required to the car to use it but it does require a very clunky adapter that Tesla no longer sells and is limited to about 45kW. Your '13 S is likely too old for the CCS upgrade. The '16 X is definitely eligible for the CCS upgrade...

    Using prefab units, which these are, sites can look complete very quickly but can still be months away from being operational. The real defining factor is the transformer. Was the transformer present?

    It's in the Tesla app. Go to location which should pop up a map, move the map to wherever your interested and turn on the view chargers button (yellow circle) on the map. Click on the charger you're interested in and all the details are there.

    $0.44 kWh so about 15 cents a mile without the trailer. A trailer, no matter how light or short will add to drag significantly. I don't have experience with trailers so you should search other threads for info on that.

    The adapter I posted claims to work on AC also, the upper half alone is Type 2. I don't know how, or if, it deals with 3 phase however, that is an issue in either case.

    He posted why he wanted to keep the car upthread and as an owner of both a '14 and '15 I have to agree with him. The only thing I want on these cars I don't currently have is faster supercharging which I should get should I ever have to replace the battery.

    It's a little more complicated than that. The ESVE advertises itself with a 1kHz PWM square wave as indicated in the chart below. Perhaps you are thinking of how the Tesla UMC knows the current rating of the adapter it has plugged into it, that uses a resistor.

    In over 300,000 miles of road tripping, in all lower 48, with over 2500 supercharger sessions, I never charge to 100%, heck I rarely go over 70%. Charging to 100% just wastes time.

    I would advise against doing this unless you have a firm diagnosis and have an exact part number. I'm just a guy on the internet making an educated guess based off my 9 year model S ownership. Take it to Tesla, have them diagnose, then decide if you can get it fixed cheaper elsewhere.

    Sorry I wasn't clear, the problem is with the High Voltage Junction Box in YOUR CAR. This component works with the onboard charger to direct incoming power directly to the battery in the case of a supercharger or through the onboard charger for AC input.

    Probably bad high voltage contactor in the High Voltage Junction Box, fairly common issue. They said it works on home charger, #5 last paragraph. That's what leads me to believe probkem is in HVJB.

    Chargers at both those locations use the Tesla connector but generally chargers at hotels are for guests only. They are both 10kW, 40amps @ 208v, not 16. These types of questions can be answered at plugshare.com.

    Given the rash of reports lately, it's almost certainly a bad 14-50 adapter on the Tesla UMC. There's a bad batch of adapters out there.
