Tesla lost it way when it ditched Mobile Eye and real leather

I don’t care about Tesla making money, or their green credentials. When I purchased my S I believed it was the best sedan available EV or ICE, I can no longer say the same. Many brands have caught up on the tech side, and Tesla has only increased prices and removed features.

What recession, 200k new jobs each month is a recession? Don't confuse your tesla stock tanking along with worthless digital currencies with the real economy.

Tesla lost it way when it ditched Mobile Eye and real leather

I am not impressed by most changes since my 16 90D, the longer range along with the quicker charging is probably the only real upgrade to the vehicle in the past 7 years. I'll hold on to it until the second generation vehicles of the competition are on sale. Tesla will soon have to earn its...

Discussion: Model 3 Price reductions - Jan / April / Oct 2023 and all other pricing discussions

Large brands don't mind losing money on EVs while still making tons of $ on their ICE vehicles
  10. zambono

Big price drop - LR down $10k, Plaid down $21k

Model S should start around $70k, model 3 around $40k. Those are appropriate prices for what you get, they charge for everything now as well, unlike years ago.

Tesla lost it way when it ditched Mobile Eye and real leather

The title says it all. I would say that time frame was when Tesla switched into a car company I wouldn't necessarily call premium. Pressure from Model 3 manufacturing and cost I assume. Many if not all decisions since then have been to cut costs, even if they claim green credentials. No more...

Model 3 is a $40k car, and a Y is $45k for the base models. Anybody paying more than that has overpaid.

What electrical plug should I install..

Just saw your link thanks, so 32amp charging in going to guess it needs a 40 amp circuit. I hadn’t realized the new chargers charge at 32, mine is a 40amp charger.

What electrical plug should I install..

Thanks for the info, I take it Tesla’s are delivered with mobile chargers in Europe. Will that blue comando work? For now I just want to leave it ready, at the very least conduit and a panel.

What electrical plug should I install..

Getting a house built in Costa del Sol and want to have it EV ready, or almost ready. Here in the US I have a nema 4-50 socket connected to 50 amps, what is the equivalent in Europe so that EV drivers can charge easily using their own chargers? Thanks

Anyone has experience with Tesla’s Rockville MD body shop?

Try Europros in Gaithersburg, they do good work. Fixed my S a couple times, have the shop full of Porsches and other high end vehicles.

    Proportions... not right

I can’t argue with the utility aspect of the Y, but my opinion of course when I see one parked I get thrown back. It’s a bloated 3 and not done right. Again, I don’t like these coupe SUVs to begin with but I think one of the finer examples is the Audi Q8

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

I agree NHTSA will rule against Tesla which will mean free fixes for all. I’ll take the upgrade at a reduced price though, not retail, they have to pay for their mess. My screen has constant windows which don’t render, the updates are taking their toll. MCU1, 2019 62k miles

    Proportions... not right

I had hoped the Y might replace my S in a couple years if the S didn’t get a major overhaul but I have seen the Y at superchargers a couple times and the proportions are just way off. It’s mostly the rear but the front isn’t saved either. I must admit I find it very ugly, they should have...

Model S needs a major visual overhaul, and Plaid announcement means it's not happening [Speculation]

Tesla lowered the price of the S but honestly it needs to start in the lower 60s . And definitely give me my damn leather, I eat steaks, wear sneakers, and want real leather when I’m driving. Tesla (TSLA) slashes Model S price, now starts at just $71,990 - Electrek

Model S needs a major visual overhaul, and Plaid announcement means it's not happening [Speculation]

The precept looks interesting but will have to see in person. Honestly I would like an electric vehicle to replace my S that completely does away with current car forms. There is no need for a long trunk, they can figure out safety and push the wheels to the furthest ends and the greenhouse...

Real life experience with Xcelerate warranty?

It should be allowed, it’s Tesla’s mess. All MCU1 should get replacements at cost, no labor

    Are my daytime lights dim?

They will fail again within months of replacing because Tesla can’t get to fixing the issue, just replace the part

Model S needs a major visual overhaul, and Plaid announcement means it's not happening [Speculation]

So imagine us which purchased before model 3 existed and spent double. Tesla doesn’t deserve the ability to sell a vehicle over $60k with the service they provide

Porsche changes their design every 2 years its seems, and yeah the model S looks decent but also stale. The rolls Phantom has gotten more updates

Current model S owner here, I doubt it highly I will replace my S with another Tesla unless there are major updates. I will definitely be looking at the EQS, eTron GT, Lucid, etc... Reasons No major change since 2012 AP no real improvement in functionality since AP1 Service has become the...

2k miles after 50k warranty is over I am getting a sound from behind the dash trim, to the right of the screen and middle vent. It happens on medium sized and larger road imperfections and sounds like paper crumbling, or like a candy wrapper crumbling. Very annoying and surprisingly loud. By...

Progressive rating for MS: no blind spot warning

there is no blind spot, the bands on the screen based on the ultrasonics are a joke. It needs true blind spot displayed on the mirrors which is where a driver should be looking when making a lane change and not at the instrument cluster

Late 2016 / Early 2017 S Owners: How Are Your Daytime Running Lights Holding Up?

You said id, sell the stock while you still can. I am sure Hyundai / Kia will have a 300+ mile decent electric sooner rather than later. It will cost me a fraction of my Tesla and the small bits will last longer.

Late 2016 / Early 2017 S Owners: How Are Your Daytime Running Lights Holding Up?

I can't wait till there are more options for decent electric sedans in the $80k to $100k range, I am tired of all the crappy small issues. Maybe the Audi GT will be it, I think the Taycan is too expensive for the specs.

    V10 on MCU1

v10 on MCU1 is a piece of %$#T. Did a 200 mile trip this weekend and it took it 5 or more minutes plus a reboot to calculate a route with a supercharger stop. Bluetooth is no longer working and I have the message to call service. Who knows what other issues it might have.

Late 2016 / Early 2017 S Owners: How Are Your Daytime Running Lights Holding Up?

The claim that it is a wear item is ridiculous just because they are suffering the consequences of choosing the cheapest manufacturer. Having to replace a whole headlight is not a user serviceable item such as brake pads. Yellow screens, handles that don’t present, lights that don’t run, sub...
