Depending on your State, when you trade in, taxes are due on the difference between the new car price and trade in value. If that applies to you, effectively you only lose the sales tax on the depreciation amount.

I have a round bag, came with Gen1 MC I recieved with the car. The back zippered compartment has a few slots made with elastic stitched in. Kinda like pen holders on some bags/backpacks. Bigger ones hold the MC adapters and I stuck the tow hook through the smaller one. Keeps it from flopping...

Why under the liner? I keep mine in the charger bag. It has a slot for it.

If you are leasing your current car it may not make sense to pay off and trade it as you found out. Financing is still an option though, yes you will pay tax on full price (unless you can register it in NJ) but other that that a 72 month loan with selling it after 3 years is pretty much the same...

Have you considered financing? You can still get a decent rate and if you have a trade, NY state will only apply sales tax to the difference between trade and new car... You still get the $7500 tax credit and a $500 NYSREDA rebate. Sell or trade it in 3 years if you don't plan to keep longer.

It does update, but there's a delay, followed by an adjustment. For instance, when I open the app in the AM I would see say 45° as cabin temp, when I turn on climate - after a few secs I see it drop to 37° and defrost mode engage.
