    Rear Wheel Well Liner

I had mobile ranger come and add the clips to these holes. The ranger told me that early this year, the engineers in the factory determined that these clips are no longer necessary and thus every car afterwards skipped the step. He though addressed my concern of dirt/noise and add the clips back...

    Software update 28.5

I took car in yesterday to fix a small panel alignment issue that was documented during delivery. I had 28.2 FW already installed. To my surprise, they installed 28.5 update for me after they fixed panel alignment. I didn't get a chance to look at the release notes but guess it is probably...

Phantom / Vampire Drain on Model 3

My car was delivered with updated BMS bootloader and last week got 28.2 update. I lost 8-10 miles each night until I log out and deleted Tazlab app from my phone. Now I lose only 1-2 miles each night parking in garage.

    Supercharger - Manchester, TN

I am charging here now. It’s actually a 120kw charger. My model S 75 can get its peak rate of 96kw.

    Supercharger - Manchester, TN

Just called Tesla Roadside and they said it was online 2 days ago. She is not sure why it shows as 72KW. This is a much better stop than Chattanooga and Brentwood.

    Supercharger - Manchester, TN

Great news even if it's only 72KW. I will be heading to St. Louis tomorrow. It would be awesome if anyone gets a chance to check-in today to confirm it is working. I will certainly report it tomorrow too.

    Supercharger - Manchester, TN

You sound like an accountant who is not even competent to calculate the settlement value vs. the NPV they get from people paying for function not developed yet. I call selling AP2 and FSD ahead of its development a super smart business decision to get the funding as well as push internal...

    Supercharger - Manchester, TN

I don't need to make up anything. If you think Tesla needs change to a boring "under-promise" company to please the wall street, you should just sell any stock you own/avoid buying. Stretching the team to something they did not initially believe is how Elon runs his businesses and why they were...

    Supercharger - Manchester, TN

I guarantee you that you have no clue about short term pleasing the street hurts the long term return of the company since you were too busy getting your doctorates than actually running a business or making good investment decision. Being long term successful as a company is about caring less...

    Supercharger - Manchester, TN

Idiot like you should just go away! The under-promise mindset was the fundamental problems in a lot of large corp as they were afraid of wall street analysts bullshit and day traders. This fuels internal negotiation, sandbagging and short-sighted decisions. It's a true loss when company is not...

    New Nav trip planner behavior

I compared it to abetterrouteplanner (changed setting of buffer charge from 10% to 5%) and realized that the charging stops are almost the same now. I am a bit concerned with this since 5% on my S75 is only 12 miles extra which could be easily gone with bad weather or a missed exit.

    New Nav trip planner behavior

I just got the new nav last week and was testing the routing by plugging in a few road trip destination I had in the past. To my surprise, it seems that the new nav is more aggressive on the buffer charge and prefer taking longer but less frequent charging stops. e.g. for a route from Atlanta...

    Supercharger - Manchester, TN

Wonder when this would become operational. It is a very strategic location to eliminate the need to go through Chattanooga which not only add 10-15 mins to the travel but also have to wait for a slow charge given the % of charge when arrival.

    Efficiency from tire changes

I just realized the same last night. My old set was running on 47 PSI last time after I went to the tire shop to patch one of them about a month ago. They purposely inflated a bit higher as we were anticipating cold weather coming. After the replacement this time, the tire shop inflated the new...

    Efficiency from tire changes

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping the same range and noise improvement when I chose Michelin. I guess now I know why it may not be the case even though it is hard to pin down the exact contributor(s).

    Efficiency from tire changes

I recently changed my tires from OEM Goodyear to Michelin Primacy MXM4 that used to be the OEM tires too. I have 19 inch wheels. After the change, I noticed a drop in efficiency. There are lots of other variables that I cannot go back and test so I am trying to understand if anyone else notice...

Good service visit on tire rotation

Just want to shout out to the good work Marietta service center did on my Tesla today. I visited to do the tire rotation. The mechanic found my rear tire threads are worn to 3/32 while front is 5/32. I am close to 20K miles but this seems still quite premature on 19 inch OEM wheels (and I am not...

NEW 7 SEAT OPTION WITH PICS!!!

I have mixed feeling about this. Folding flat is nice especially when you plan to camp in the car. Lack of leg room will be concerning. If someone has a new 7 seats, can you fold down either the 40% or 60% 2nd row to give easy access to third row with room to stretch the legs for long trip...

1300+ miles road trip AP observation

It does seem AP2 software works quite differently. On my AP1, the left lane with one solid line on the left worked better than two dotted line in the middle lane. My guess is that the limited computer power on AP1 does not project dotted lane mark into a reliable path for the car well. In some...

1300+ miles road trip AP observation

I just came back from a 1300+ miles round trip between Atlanta, GA and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. About 60% of the drive was day time and 40% of the drive was after sunset. My AP HW is 1.0 and SW is 2017.28 c528869. Overall experience was better than a couple shorter trips I had before in an earlier...

Can we watch solar eclipse through pano/all glass roof?

I guess we will know tomorrow. For the record, I used the certified glasses. But might have a few seconds not fully protected when I was trying to take a photo through the glasses which half of the crowed at the scene did.

Can we watch solar eclipse through pano/all glass roof?

Good to hear the professional advise! We have the certified glass. I am just worried about kid being able to have it on all time. I did see people use photographic film when I was in elementary school in another country. Back then there was less education for sure on such topic.

Can we watch solar eclipse through pano/all glass roof?

Thanks for all the reply. Not planning to skip the glass but just wonder if this could be an extra level of protection for young kid. He took off swimming goggles sometimes while in the water park and that worries me a lot. Maybe I should just keep him indoor.

Can we watch solar eclipse through pano/all glass roof?

I am wondering if it is safe to watch the solar eclipse through the beautiful pano or all glass roof on Model S. The glass is factory tinted for UV/IR protection but not sure if it is strong enough. I am asking because I would love to seat my 4 year old in the car to watch it assuming he is...

    Speculation - New charging plug?

I believe in the foreseeable future, Tesla will be the only EV maker that has meaningful number of cars needing DC charge. Other makers will have a hard time to catch up both on making the cars and building out charging infrastructure. When Tesla owners are the only meaningful group of owners on...

[Poll] - are you mad that your new Tesla just missed Autopilot 2.0?

Yea, we should definitely do that. Let me pm you my email.

    AP 2.0 == $8000

Yea, but probably need something designed better. With full self driving, people can just sit in the back during the commute. A folding table, better web browser in the back, video streaming etc would be nice to have at the back. Also capability to drive through Starbucks would be nice too :)

    AP 2.0 == $8000

Now they just need to make the backseat more comfortable!

Occasional rattle from back of car.

I noticed the same in my refreshed S RWD too. It's more obvious when I came to a stop at very low speed. It also seems only noticeable when my air suspension is set to very high. Maybe you can try very high setting and see if it's more likely to re-produce that way assuming you also have air...

Route suggestion from Atlanta to New Jersey

Thanks to all that replied. This is really helpful. I did try EV trip planner but was wondering if there is recommendation on certain EV friendly hotel on the way. EV Trip Planner does seem to be a very helpful tool as I explore it more. One thing I wish it had is to include newly refreshed 60...

Route suggestion from Atlanta to New Jersey

Just got my MS60 two weeks ago. It has been a great experience so far. Loving the car and decided to keep my model 3 reservation. Now I am planning to take a trip from Atlanta to New Jersey during Thanksgiving. Obviously I am both excited and anxious about it. Any route recommendation (e.g...

Driving experience of RWD vs AWD?

I think the problem to do this is that the rear motor in AWD is a smaller one vs. RWD. So the hardware limited what software can do. Potentially the P85D or P90D can do some of this but likely not as fast as it would be on AWD. Btw, I just ordered my first Tesla: a 60 RWD. Have been back and...
