Average age of Model 3 owners?

18 M3LR in mid 40's... 22 M3P on order now in late 40's... I guess the 40's weren't so bad after all. Wife is nearly a decade behind so we have late 30's covered too. Hoping to kick off the 50's with a tri motor CT! Great to hear so many 60's 70s and beyond loving their M3... tried to convert...

I can no longer, in good conscience, recommend Tesla vehicles.

The OP's feelings are understandable, and on some days I have felt the same way! Dumping unexpected $$ into a car sucks. After having a brand new 2016 MS 90D for 2 years, we realized that owning a MS past warranty probably would not be the best decision. So, we ordered a M3LR in 2018 because of...

Charge Speed Reduced, unplug and try again

I have an early 2018 M3LR, and will echo what what said earlier in this thread - if your charging rate drops in 16a increments it is highly likely your PSC need replacing. Get it fixed before your 16a charge turns to zero. This happened to me after warranty and required a $1200 198mi tow to SC...

Model 3 18” Aero wheels no covers (4) $400 in NorCal

After further inspection and taking pics, noticed the top two do have small rash on the rim edge, must have happened while in storage. Still nice for a second set of rims. Will consider all offers.

Model 3 18” Aero wheels no covers (4) $400 in NorCal

I have a set of four Aero wheels without covers or tires for sale. These were replaced by insurance after tow truck company secured my car on a flatbed with webbing over the wheels. They didn’t remove the covers so they rubbed on the rims, which left small marks in ~4 places on each rim, paint...

@NTech I’m in same boat, was working with my 3, now same issue described in this thread. Any chance there’s another update coming? Or workaround?

Flash Poll for US Owners: Can you configure your Model 3?

I have owned 1 MS and received 2 invites. Which option should I select? (I clicked "yes" for now)

To the person taking delivery of Red M3 with Aeros in Rocklin today...

    1. Awesome. That is why I mentioned reserving judgement, and I really didn't think I'd find you on here, just had to vent. I can only tell you what the employee told me "the owner is worried" (might have said scared but same point). I'm glad to hear that wasn't the case, hope there's no hard...

Wiki Model 3 Order Tracking Spreadsheet

I just received invite to configure my second Model 3, and I've only owned 1 MS. I am still pending VIN on the first order, and just hit delay for AWD on second one. I had assumed my second car would be in line behind all the non-owners who reserved before me - does this mean non-owners are also...

To the person taking delivery of Red M3 with Aeros in Rocklin today...

As a pending M3 owner waiting for VIN, I have never had a chance to touch or sit in a 3 before plunking down my deposit. Today I figured I'd drive by Rocklin again to see if any new 3's came in, maybe see one up close. Walking into the showroom, I was greeted by the usual nice younger fellow who...

What does "Factory Gated" mean on a car

All the 3s are behind gate in Rocklin. I saw the same thing there a few weeks ago, only in 1 car, figured it was some kind of factory hold. Still not sure, but a week later it was gone (could have been hiding in the SC, but gated lot went from 15+ to zero 3’s recently, so maybe they were all...

[POLL] CA Current owners ONLY. Have you received your config invite yet?

That’s exactly why changed it to yes, albeit 2 days late, and cast my bet others would do the same - maybe not immediately but soon after ordering... because once the order goes in, there’s nothing left to do for 2-4 weeks but revisit all the threads that made us crazy enough to spend $50k on a...

[POLL] CA Current owners ONLY. Have you received your config invite yet?

I think most people inspired to vote on this in the first place will come back... I’m 2 days late but hey I was busy updating the spreadsheet! 2/5. Blue, Aeros. Waiting for vin.

    Owners—anybody miss the Nov-Jan window?

I was Nov-Jan. Got invite 2/5. However I was logging in 10 times a day and was able to configure a week before, but I didn’t pull the trigger until the invite email. I was going in circles, SR, D, wait... But the email pushed me over the edge, just want it now!! Not too upset about missing...

Why wasn't Tesla part of the 100 Tech Companies Signing against the Travel Ban?

No, I didn't say I believed in the ban. I asked how a story about Jobs never coming to America and Apple never existing was at all grounded in fact, when the ban is, at this point in time, temporary. Yet, that is all I read everywhere. Hype and exaggeration is ok I guess, as long as you support...

Why wasn't Tesla part of the 100 Tech Companies Signing against the Travel Ban?

Thanks for making presumptions about my position. FYI, I did not vote for Trump. At least you indirectly answered the question.. and what I assume as well... people are afraid temporary isn't temporary. However, not a single discussion I've heard complaining about the ban included "the main...

    New .25 tacc hw2

You are not counting the 100 people who consider the space in front of you theirs, or the railroad crossing you had to wait at because of the delay they caused, or the rain storm you didn't beat home because of that, which caused an accident you now have to wait to clear. There goes an hour...

Why wasn't Tesla part of the 100 Tech Companies Signing against the Travel Ban?

I thought the ban was only 3 months, providing time to figure out how improve vetting procedures. How would this permanently preclude him from being admitted, and totally change the course of history? Do people just like to exaggerate? Seems like "alternate facts" coming from both sides of the...

Tire repair kit... included with new Teslas in CA or not?

I didn't get one. Tesla roadside assistance promptly brought a spare wheel/tire when I got a flat, which is better than a temporary plug in my mind.

New car need bodyshop repair .. depreciation ?

My car was damaged before delivery. I was told the entire left rear panel would be replaced, no blending or welding. Maybe they were full of crap, but no way I can tell looking at it, and I doubt anyone else will either. From What I was told, Tesla doesn't perform such a detailed inspection...

Cleaning inside of windshield in front of camera?

My car had a nasty film on the inside of the windshield on delivery, in spite of everything else being pretty spotless. Not sure how the SC missed it, but a good cleaning worked wonders for the glare, both into the sun and at night. I got to thinking, this stuff is probably still up there behind...

    Version 17.4.14

Very true. One really subjective thing I thought I noticed but wasn't really sure... over time my hands have calibrated the precise amount of resistance it takes to override autosteer, so I can give just enough nudge to recenter in the lane, and hopefully help it learn. Obviously that doesn't...

    Version 17.4.14

Interesting feedback. Was this mostly on divided highway? My results are the practically the opposite. I feel like 17.4.14 is where I was 2-3 versions ago, as far as reacting to turns and staying between the lines, on undivided highways and country backroads. I know that is not the Tesla...

Dark morning in America - talk of Model S seems - frivolous

It's not so much what I think it means but rather what was inferred by the context. Perhaps there was no intent to mean unbiased or fair or any other adjective that would imply a more trustworthy report than from the government directly, in which case I sincerely apologize and will bow out of...

The institutions he cited are anything but "free press" if that is to infer unbiased reporting.

Does Tesla let you pay off your lease in full?

No reason why you couldn't, although it seems odd you'd want to do it that way. Btw, it's actually usbank (at least my lease thru Tesla).

John Deere now makes better EVs than most auto companies.

    Today, she arrived...

My SC said "up to 24 hours" but from anecdotal evidence, whether you picked up the car at 8am or 4pm, it will usually be working the next day. Mine was working very early morning the day after delivery. My suspicion is that there's a batch process or database update that runs nightly, assigning...

Elon about Model 3: "free long distance" Supercharging "not free local"

To me this just reinforces his previous statement about a free bucket (400kwh). This is intended to cover the long distance charging, making it free for the average person. He doesn't specifically say long distance charging will be unlimited, he says superchargers solve that problem, while the...

    Precondition without App?

No prob, just learned about this myself. The only other way I know with no cell service (otherwise use remote s app camping mode) is to put a weight on the seat, or roll down the window, get out, hit the screen to wake it back up, then hit the window up button from outside. That will give you...

Put it in neutral and apply parking brake manually instead of putting it in park. Tried this the other day parked in the sun at the mall and it was arctic when I came out an hour later! This won't work while charging tho.

S90D vs S75D differences besides battery?

First of all, this was not meant to offend any 60/75 owners. I too was under the impression they were identical other than battery and badging. I was actually thinking when this 2 year lease is up, if no deals like Q3 2016 exist, I might have to downgrade to keep driving a MS (M3 will be too...

S90D vs S75D differences besides battery?

Swapped our 2 week old 90D for a brand new 75D loaner and immediately noticed the steering felt looser, in spite of both being set to "sport". Bouncing down country roads, the car just feels looser and less precise, with more body roll in the corners. Both are on 19's at 45 psi. This makes me...

    Has Tesla stopped 8.0 updates?

Thanks for the confirmation! Sounds like I just need to keep nagging, and maybe use the safety reason. BTW, per TeslaFi (not on ev-fw yet) 2.42.40 is out!! Looks like only 3 cars in Asia have it so far, though.

    Has Tesla stopped 8.0 updates?

Some California Superchargers not providing maximum charging rates

I was just reading about the reduced charging symptoms described here, shorty before charging at the Roseville Galleria where I've never had a problem. The reasonably* priced Model S

Why all the whining about whining!? On our April'16 S90D, the whine is noticible only at low speed with the radio off when accelerating rapidly. I actually like it, would miss it if it was gone, and compared to anything else I've driven would still consider it "silent". Road noise is far more...

    The reasonably* priced Model S

I did not drive the RWD model. I want to visit Tahoe in the winter, which meant D and 19's. But even if that wasn't the case, I would still choose D for the performance, range (slight, but pays back some of the 60 vs 75 decision), and handling, especially in wet weather.

    The reasonably* priced Model S

As someone in a similar position, trying to get into a Tesla without completely breaking the bank, I was ready to make almost all the same choices. However, I couldn't pass up a great deal on an inventory S90D for $600/mo on a 2 year. Now I'm worried what will happen after 2 years when I will...
