We cannot set the charging limit lower than 50%, though. So I'd recommend leaving the car plugged in and set the charging limit at 50%.

Yellow light means the cars thinks the connection was not properly aligned and therefore would charge at reduced rate. Correct. I think if you see the blue light, the car should charge at the highest rate you set it at (40 or 48A). You shouldn't have to do the extra steps you mentioned later.

What do you mean? Are you saying you bought the insurance (is that the same thing as "tire certificate?") AFTER the screw in the tire, and your tire shop replaced it?

Well, there is no way I'm going to do it myself, and I don't suppose any reputable garage / tire shop would take on the liability of patching a nail hole that close to the sidewall.

Are you referring to the Highland Park shin-dig a week or so ago? Was that supposed to be a monthly thing? I doubt it. I was out of town so didn't attend either. But that was the first "social" event for local owners I've seen (I took delivery at the end of September).

+1 don't really care, kept it and don't ever have to worry about the license plate ticket. Does anyone truly think "Ugh that Tesla is so atrocious with that front license plate?"

This is very important. I think too many people are worried about being charged per kWh vs per min vs variable rates based on charge speed etc. Bottom line is, as @SomeJoe7777 very nicely demonstrated here, the "fuel cost" is cheaper than gasoline. I applaud Tesla for coming up with a fair...
