You'll need to build a bypass cable. There is a company that sells the parts, you just need to assemble the cables. This will provide you with the 12volt bypass for your camera, at least that's what I did for my Blackvue

Took about 30 minutes, they installed it while I waited. It's just a matter of popping out the old cover and putting in the new.

I was parked in a wide open spot , one row away from Shabuway under a street lamp. I'll assume whoever did it pulled up next to my car, got out, broke the window and left. Probably all within 15 seconds. Too bad this was the loaner car, otherwise my rear dash cam would have seen the car.

The rear camera was not as good as the front but it was better than nothing. I just received the new 4K cameras so hopefully I'll be able to get much better video should this happen again.

Well worded. I think that regardless of the penalty for getting caught (short of having your hand cut off), thieves would still break in. What are the chances of getting caught? Probably pretty small. Risk vs. reward.

Anyone leaving their rear window cracked? Since my windows are tinted, it’s hard to see in. I’m thinking of maybe leaving the read window cracked and the seats down to prevent further glass breaks

I think the Tesla's are targeted more so by gangs and organized crime than some transient.

It happened in San Jose, on Saratoga Ave. Seems to be a very wide spread problem.
