Leaving a phone with the Tesla app, inside the car?

So another question: If a phone that is a key is left in the car, and the car is locked with a different phone or the key card, can anyone walk up to the car and unlock it by trying the door handles?

How long did you spend at Service Center for Delivery?

Don't you think it would be better if they just mentioned the 'up-sells' at some point? Like if they said "would you be interested in any accessories for your car?" If "no" then leave it at that, if "yes" then they can go into more detail for the benefit of the new owner, without being pushy...

Car still asks for key card even with key fob

Why do you not use Bluetooth? It doesn't use much battery at all (hence 'Bluetooth low energy') and no-one's going to hack your phone. Seriously, try it. Hundreds of thousands of people around the world are doing it so it can't be a deal breaker.

Car still asks for key card even with key fob

The 'car key' part of the app doesn't use data, it uses Bluetooth. If your phone has a reliable Bluetooth system and it doesn't send the Tesla app to sleep then it shouldn't be a problem. Data is only used for things like aircon, horn etc.

The dashcam usage would be almost invisible as all the cameras and computers are already on, just a little more work to transfer the data down another cable to the USB stick.

Thinking to swapping month old SR+ with LR RWD

Yes, it's the 7 day policy, strange that it's just for the UK. Maybe it's just something they can protect themselves with, and they don't usually enforce it.

Model S range and interior update imminent?

I can't speak for the whole of the EU, but we go somewhere to get somewhere, we don't take a 'road trip'. It's likely also there-and-back, so if that somewhere is 150 miles off, we'll have to stop off to supercharge once even in the Raven LR. TBH the Raven makes these trips easy, but I guess...

    under 10,000 per year

I prefer the Battista apart from the horrible design at the front of the hood (for all of you Americanites:)) They've recently amended it to make it look better, but I still think it ruins the look enough for me to prefer the roadster.

As far as I know Tesla sell a 32a connector, it just doesn't come standard with the car. Give them a call, it should clear things up. Plus, let us know the results.:)

    Do Teslas have AVAS?

Interesting. Stopping from 12 mph takes 6 metres, or less than 2 seconds. For the sound to be useful, he must have been a reckless blind person. Or maybe EVs don't knock people over any more than ICE:rolleyes:

Top Gear Model 3 Performance Preview!

I just specced the Merc and Tesla, Merc came in at £80,178 and Tesla came in at £54,590. Merc fuel costs = £4,011/year vs 484/year for Tesla, I.e. 8x the cost or £3,500 extra per year. Over 4 years, that's £40,000. It's not even close to the same class.

Who is the target market? Obviously 450 miles is a plus point but the Model S LR is currently at 375 miles, the LY1 is only 20% more. Plus the Model S has over twice the charge speed. I.e. range isn't really a USP. Solar charging: slower than a household plug in Europe, but more convenient I...
