Please help: frunk flew open on highway, bent hood, and smashed windshield. Tesla refusing to repair

Here are three pictures. The cap used, the button without the cap, and the cap installed. This is on my 2017 model X and it is different than on the newer versions. The button in mine is more protected than on the newer Model X, but I have a lot of things in it and in an emergency I do not...

Please help: frunk flew open on highway, bent hood, and smashed windshield. Tesla refusing to repair

I covered the button with the large round top off an used Walgreens prescription bottle. Like the one in the photo below. It snaps right over the square protection shield and stays put with no fasteners needed.

Putting Model S 19" Slipstreams on my Model X Performance.

I run my 2017 Model X with 245/55R19s at between 42 and 44 lbs of pressure. The sticker on the car calls for 42lbs all the way around. I changed the Michelin Premier LTX 245/55/19 at 50,000 miles and replaced them with Michelin Defender LTX as the Premiers are NLA in this size. The new tires...

Putting Model S 19" Slipstreams on my Model X Performance.

Thanks for the comment. I never mentioned before that I replaced the tires with over 50,000 miles on them and they still had decent tread. Also I had very little wear extra on the inside of the tires when on the rear. I did rotate every 5,000 miles and used the low setting on the air...

Model X falcon wing door water intrusion when opening doors in rain

It's held up fine and works as well as ever. I sliced the ends of each piece of molding at an angle and they are only 1/4" high so no drag that I can notice.

    Water intrusion after rain

We are dong well. We have new solar panels and 3 Powerwalls so never lost power and was able to provide power to two other homes as well. Many homes in our community were flooded but we only had minor damage to the exterior of our home.

    2022 X PLAID - Poor Range Performance Help: Getting 50 - 77% of EPA 311 miles

Try using "Range Mode". Also, I am getting much more range from my "2017" 100D at 75MPH then you are at 65MPH because I am running 19" Slipstream wheels from a Model S with 245X55x19 Michelin Defenders. A plaid running 22" wheels and tires is not going to give you good range no matter what you do.

Has anyone received a '17 Model X AP Camera Upgrade?

Ours were installed in my garage May 5th. The tires were inflated to 46 pounds and front suspension components greased by hand at no cost as prevenative maintenance. Also I was asked if I had any questions or concerns about the car. Removed a rubber seal along the trailing edge of the falcon...

Sandy Munro favorite Tesla Model X

There was for me. I am having the cameras on my 2017 model X replaced to ones that will make FSD available, at last, on my car. I noticed that the housing around the rear view mirror that covers the cameras on this new Model X are much larger then the one on my Model X. My concern is my...

Putting Model S 19" Slipstreams on my Model X Performance.

I understand your concern about the load range with my 103H tires. However, My X is a 5 passenger and is at least 500 lb lighter then a 7 passenger which has the 108 load range as stock so i was not too concerned.

Putting Model S 19" Slipstreams on my Model X Performance.

Hi, To answer your questions: All wheels are R19 Slipstreams from the Model S. I had to shorten the lug nut covers 1/2" to match the look of them when on the 20" wheels. (see picture) I used the 6mm spacers on all wheels. You could use them only on the back if you want, but the setup works...

Putting Model S 19" Slipstreams on my Model X Performance.

Eight and a half turns on the lug wrench until tight. As you can see from the second photo, the threads on the lug nut do not extend to the front of the nut, so I there is plenty of thread contract. Most recommend at least 6 and 1/2 turns.

Putting Model S 19" Slipstreams on my Model X Performance.

I am not sure what you mean by "thread engagement", but I attached pictures of the tire tread today from one front and one back tire. The depth is 6/32" from the original 11/32"

I have been using Model S Slipstreams on my Model X 5 passenger for 4 years now. I mounted 245/55R19 Michelin on them. I also put 6mm spacers behind the wheels. I have had zero problems with this setup and get over 300 miles of range, 310WH/mile. I have five wheels and tires and rotate them...

How bad are Falcon Wing doors?

Another benifit of the doors is If you forgot, or do not want to use Tesla's Overheat Protection on a hot day, opening the falcon doors and tailgate as you walk up to the car will drop the inside air temperature in a hurry.

i used stock Tesla Slipstreams from a model S like the ones shown here: Tesla Model S 2017 19" OEM Wheel Rim Slipstream As you can see from the specs they are only 8" wide. Some people say that these are not rated for the weight of the Model X. I have a 5 passenger Model X 100D which...

255/60/19 on slipstream 19" wheels from a model S does not fit. I tried. I did not try 265/55/19 tires. I used Michelin Premier LTX 245/55/19 since May 2017 on my X and they work well. Softer ride and better range then stock 20" wheels and tires and they have the same diam. as the original...

19" Slipstream with tires / TPMS, 2k miles

The 19" Slipstreams work great on a Model X. I've been using them on a 2017 Model X 100d for over 3 years. However you need to use 245/55R19 tires as the originals are too small for an X. The Michelin Premier LTX I am running on mine have 35,000 miles on them and my range is over 310 miles.

No, I am saying that our Bolt has better fit and finish and actually rides better on our local roads than our 2017 Model X. We have had it for a year now with no problems at all. Model Y vs. Mustang GTE

We own a model X and a Bolt. I love the X but it is not perfect. The Bolt is great around town, is easy to park and actually rides better over the same bumps in the road. Our Bolt's build quality is flawless. The Model X, not so much. However, if I could only have one car it would be a...

Have an X and just got a Chevy Bolt as a second car because the Model 3 is too low to get into for me. Only had the Bolt a few days but find it to be a well built and easy to use car. I would buy a Y to replace the X. The X is a great car but too large for us. I bought it because it was the...

    URGENT QUESTION

I've been using 5 Model S Slipstreams with Michelin Premier LTX 245/55R19 tires on our 5 seat Model X for over 22,000 miles. The wheels actually appear stronger than the 20's as the wheel hub is thicker. I use the 5th wheel and tire as a spare and rotate all 5 every 5,000 miles. Had one flat...
