The Sudbury SC have no bollards and were damaged last year by plowing... blows my mind how they did not think of that.

I'd love to join you but a) I don't own a Tesla and b) the only DCFC in NB right now is busted. Such is the life of a non-Tesla driver ;)

Correct - HydroOne would be for Espanola & Deep River. But even local utilities are slow with transformer hookups. The Sudbury site was over a month delivery.

It's behind the Tims/Giftshop area. According to a electrical person they said it should be open by summers end.

There are several members and even TMC Ontario (if you are a member) will lend out CHAdeMO adapters for trips, just as an FYI if you ever do want to take that trip :)

I would say the SC should be finished by then but the utility transformer was not on-site so that could be the hold up. At least in Sudbury it delayed opening around a month.

I checked around there but I don't think there is enough room, the parking is already crazy. The other place I was thinking was by the Tim Hortons/McDonalds/mall area in Espanola. Most SCs off the highway are in town a bit and not directly off the highway.

I took a drive out to Espanola today and found didly. Not so much as a locate mark. There's really only 2 spots it could be in Espanola, however.

Hi all, The North Bay, ON supercharger work has started. The company I work for has the contract for this, so I have asked them what information I can and cannot share. More details soon.

Hmm - while I would love to see this happen, seems odd they would not then apply for the NRCan funding that is still available? 2000 sites is rather agressive and even more than what Petro-Canada is doing.

All of the sites seem to have at least 2 stations - and then the other variable is if the stations are 50kW or they are going 200+kW.

The addresses still don't make any logical sense, though. Some of them are in the middle of nowhere, with no amenities nearby. I don't know about you but I wouldn't want to drive to somewhere in the middle of nowhere to charge my vehicle, especially if you didn't know if the equipment was...

Re: the mysterious numbered company - I've got a lawyer running a search and will post back with any info. If it is indeed Hydro One, the placeholder addresses are in really weird locations. The one near me, in Sudbury, is at the end of a dead end street right near a substation with NOTHING...

If you came from Timmins via Chelmsford/Azilda, there is a L3 CHAdeMO KSI charger there as well just in case you need to top up before hitting the Super Charger. Are you in Sudbury long? Pretty nice weather today... it's -23 with a wind chill of -33!! :)

OPEN NOW! Snapped some pics now that the Tesla guy was finishing up. He could not tell me when this location would show up on the in-dash nav. He figured within 24h. My only worry will be educating the truck driving SUV loving gas burning people of Sudbury that this is EV parking only...

Another update. Tesla is/was on-site right now testing the stalls with the electrical contractor. They are powering up each one individually and testing charging rates/etc. I was asked not to take pictures, but the guy had a black Model S hooked up and charging... looking to be this week all!

That is true. I don't mind driving long distances, but I don't like driving on Hwy 69 with the 2 lanes, especially with my kids. The highway to Timmins is terrible from Sudbury, I drove it twice and won't do it again lol. That being said, I checked the progress on the Super Chargers today and...

They had all that labeling and signage in the storage box on-site... but you're right, they probably will get someone from Tesla to test the stalls. Otherwise maybe they will ask for a volunteer in Sudbury to sacrifice their car haha.

Haha I don't have a Tesla, sadly. I'm currently driving a Gen 1 Volt. I'm sure Tesla will need to "activate" the stalls either remotely or having their contractor turn on the stalls via their cabinets.

Here you go and as an update, had another chat with GSU - they were just installing the utility transformer today so the stalls and everything should be powered up TOMORROW! However, they are still waiting for the Tesla signage to be put up, so I'm thinking early next week it will be fully open...

I took some pics the other day of them installing the stalls... maybe this morning I will take a drive and take some of the completed stalls though.
