Buying Model X, Need some Advice please.

75D owner here. My requirements appear more modest than yours, still I would spring for the 100D if I had to do it over again. I can do everything I've ever wanted to do in the 75D, but the 100D would make it easy and let me focus my time and energy elsewhere. It's worth it.

    They should fix those issues.

    Delivery Estimator surrendered?

I find these dates surprising: Current non-employee owner, west coast, late Aug 2017 online reservation.

    Advice Needed

Right - my wife does pickup and drop off, so we could dedicate the X to the kids. (Could, except my wife knows that I cry when I have to drive the Prius, and she is kind and generous). I think it's a really good point.

    Advice Needed

I love the X as a kid+grandparent hauler. Why not sell the S, buy a more fully-loaded X, and add the 3 later? Then your family car has battery to spare (e.g. useful for road trips), and you've got a smaller commuter car on the side. Just brainstormin'!

Model X needs a better Quality Control team

There's also a key distinction in perspective here. As an owner I'm quite happy, and haven't seen the evidence that new/better quality control is needed. I see the anecdotes, but I don't find them particularly compelling of a larger concern that I should carry around with me. If I was wearing...

Model X needs a better Quality Control team

I'm not sure why you think that the thread subject is so narrow given that the title is: "Model X needs a better quality control team", but I would expect/hope that you are right in your exceedingly narrow claim. They rush cars out and fix them in the field, as well they should.

Model X needs a better Quality Control team

I got mine in August and I tried to be picky, but the quality on my car is fine. My sense (which could be mistaken) is that some folks take it for granted that X's overwhelmingly have quality issues. Maybe, but I don't think so. I just think people who have bad experiences are much more...

Model X needs a better Quality Control team

I don't think it's an excuse to point out that detailed finish and reliability concerns are generally not what one expects when they buy from a startup attempting to land ambitious defining features. I for one am perfectly happy to have Tesla NOT focus on getting everything perfect, because I'd...

Model X needs a better Quality Control team

Nothing on mine needed to be replaced. But I think most tech buyers realize that the price of reliability isn't six figures, rather it's simplicity. The X isn't a simple car. Anybody who looks at the feature set and doesn't factor in extra maintenance is naïve.

Bent back of seat - how bad is it?

My MX 6 seater arrived with exactly this defect - SC treated as a warranty issue, and had clearly seen it before. I remember them referring to it as "that thing that happens sometimes with the 3rd row seat backs...."

    Model X / young kids

My original point was trying to be that the split between permanent boosters on both outer middle row seats is effectively larger without the bench seat. I've had my kids in plenty of cars with bench seats - having that open air space (no bench) between them makes a material difference in how...

    Model X / young kids

    1) Reconsider the 6 seater. At the approx. age gap between your kids, they are likely to be drawn to each other intensely, and mysteriously unable to separate when they inevitably start to drive each other crazy. In a few years when your kids start to annoy each other there is a huge advantage...

What have you named your car?

I am envious that you could hold such an skewed view of the general population.

What have you named your car?

It's not a bad idea. It would be (even) more obscure, but I might be able to get the matching vanity plate.
