Voice commands on my MCU1 S are essentially useless. The vehicle will simply not process them, assuming it actually engages at all.

Any thoughts on voice commands?

You mention a wrap. Are your mirror stalks wrapped? Do you know if they updated the antennae in the mirrors that would require removing such a wrap, like chrome delete?

disregard this. Vector maps aren't gone. But something is definitely funky with the maps. Traffic specifically, and the way it renders street names has changed as well. At least it appears so to me. it reminds me of the previous maps version in a lot of ways. Can't quite put my finger on it.

You're absolutely right. Slipped my mind. Wonder if these MCU changes in any way manifest in IC changes that do, in fact, alter the experience there to free up processing power for the renders. And here I was hoping we were just waiting for leases to expire and then I'd get MCU2 with my AP 3...

Certainly the code would not allow images from "days ago." But if the fromt facing camera could cache images as the car rolled forward, they would be displayed fractions of a second later.

I would think they could cache some of the images that cameras cannot see at all times, and essentially "replay" them as the car moves. More work, yes, but certainly doable.

No issues at all thus far. Only thing I want to do is mount the drive underneath that cubby somewhere. I got some plastic velcro like material to do so, but the plastic underneath is covered with a velvety material. Vencro adhesive side will not stick. Not sure if you have a solution to that...

@tps5352 - I have a Samsung T5 2 TB drive. Saw the same Reddit thread you did about partitioning down to 1.6 TB. This did not work for me. Partitioned down to 1 TB and the drive works without issue after formatting and creating required folder.

It is slightly MCU dependant, in that MCU 1 AP 2.5 cars cannot record the rear camera, while MCU 2 AP 2.5 cars can.

I have a Dec 2017 75 D. 22,000 miles and get 245 miles on a full charge. If there is minimal price difference, get an MCU2 car. Faster upgrade timeframe to FSD and I feel like Tesla theater will eventually be used for Sentry Viewing in car.

Currently no upgrade path for MCU 1 vehicles. So you and me both :)

I anticipate the OS using external storage for more things in the future, and the cost difference at the time of purchase was minimal.

Formatted a Samsung T5 2 TB drive to FAT32 using GuiFormat. Created the TeslaCam folder. Plugged drive into car, car indicates improper formatting on the drive. I used the same app previously on all flash drives without issue. Any advice? AP 2.5 - MCU 1

It was open last time called. They had indicated they moved the lifts from Grand, so I cant imagine they still do service there.

Trying to use the same drive in my MS. Formatted in FAT 32, TeslaCam folder created. Tesla throws error about the format. Had no issues with previous drives I have used. Did you need to do anything special to get this to work?
