Another data point for everyone: had my VIN assigned this morning for delivery between June 24-28. Updated this evening for delivery between 19-25 for the Plaid.

I have the Twin Turbines on my Midnight Silver Metallic. The paint on the wheels matches the body color almost exactly. Didn't realize the wheels were so elusive - I will take pictures tomorrow and post them here.

Ordered 2 days before you. Was told today that my 100D will enter production "next week". Hopefully yours is on the the same timeline!

My take away from his statement was that they disabled the original water sensor, and are now using the camera-based system. Agree they likely can't reprogram the water sensor.

To anyone that got this upgrade, did the change get reflected in your account? My car still says it is "confirmed and waiting production", but the email they sent out said the upgraded wheels would only be reflected when the car enters production. This changed since yesterday, when I was still...

Interesting! The behavior is definitely similar to what is displayed by the AP2 system. Not sure I see the point for doing this to AP1 cars....

Whoa...that is a long wait.

From my understanding, all AP1 cars have a rain sensor and don't rely on the cameras to turn on the windshield wipers when it is raining. So, your car has likely not been affected by the last few updates regarding auto-wipe functionality.

Even established companies, like BMW, Porsche, and Mercedes take ~8 weeks to produce a custom car. It's fairly standard practice around the industry.

KTKAZ - I directly asked my DS this. The answer was "I have no idea, but will get back to you". I'm sure that will not happen. My hunch is that they are certainly not heavier, so there can only be an upside to having these, if you're ok with the looks.

Ordered the Turbines on my car in mid-December. Was told by the DS I will be receiving these new 21s instead. Not upset about it. She is looking into whether or not they are lighter.

I'm not sure the VIN timing has any impact on estimated delivery...December order in SF area as well and OA has consistently said car should be here "early to mid February". Got my VIN on 1/6.

Similar boat! I confirmed on 12/12 and still do not have a VIN. Contacted my DS the day after confirmation to get a ballpark of when the car might show up, DS said early to mid-Feb (but that of course, it could change at any time). Going to give it until next week before reaching out again...

Just placed my order for a Model S 100D. Really happy to have done so, and couldn't have done it without all of the support and info available at TMC. February can't come quick enough!

Hey guys, Brand new member, long time lurker. I'm 4-5 weeks away from placing an order on a model S, but wanted to confirm with you guys that my ski bag, which is around 200cm (6' 6") long, would fit in the back of the car. Sincerely appreciate any input! Thanks.
