This exactly. It was a perfect scenario to confuse AP. Scary but reality is computers can get confused, and we've seen situations a lot with overpasses. I'll always keep my eyes on the road, but it's getting harder to stay 100% focused now that AP is so good compared to what it was a year ago.

Just do a restart with your foot on the brake, then check the app 10 minutes later as the download will probably have completed by then and you might get a notification for the update.

Just got the update, fwiw, its about 627mb, and I was able to get it by restarting the car, and then checking the mobile app a couple times after. They def. pushed this to most if not all -

I think they are unlocked, people have to find them and then they put them behind the Tesla VIN info area afterwards. There's prob a bunch of easter eggs from prev. updates that no one found yet too.

I'm going to stop by my SC today and see if they'll push the new 40.2 update. I can't stand my regen being so weak, I have to constantly use my breaks, since maybe one or two versions ago when they loosened up regen. Hopefully they are cool with it.

from everything i can gather, they push split up files of an update to the car over time, and once those all complete they push the notification to update. So your car prob just took a while to get all the files for 39.7.1. I even saw somewhere (maybe on here?) that someone just got 36.2 ‍♂️

I just called today and they told me it could be another week or two, just to sit tight.

hmm that's interesting. I talked to a support rep on the phone and he said that the download is done in batches, like not all at the same time, so maybe you had already received most of the update, and the 100mb was the last of it to push to you.

linked my 3 to my wifi on sunday, nothing, but just now it downloaded 3.98gb worth of data. Not sure if it's just maps or what, but it downloaded "something"

i got the same from a recent update. Then i just called them and a couple days later it re-installed properly.

so I got this update notification earlier today, ran it, and then I got a "failed to update, contact tesla service" alert.. :/ . I called and they said yea a lot of people are getting this, wait for another update in a few days, you can still drive on it. OK, so I drive and notice no autopilot...

depending on my speed, direction of the wind, humidity in the air, the wind noise can very GREATLY for me. Most the time I never notice it, other times I'm like wow the wind noise is LOUD

I'm a couple versions behind now, on 21.9, does this version have wifi, and anything else notable like with autopilot?

I received mine with a spec of white paper in that same area. I didn't notice it until I got home so I grabbed a can of air and angled it under that area, inside of the trunk and was able to find a spot that cleared it out.

Tesla might just send you to the local paint shop since it's on the inside of the hood. I'd be ok with that, seems like the lowest cost and fastest option.

I agree the suspension is a bit tight, going to lower to 40 - 42 and see what happens. What VIN# range are you? Mine's 58xx's

I noticed when I have my windows down, a click or two happens when I suddenly let go of the accelerator around 20mph. Same goes with accelerating.., should I bring it in? I'm thinking it could be the suspension which I also recently noticed seems harsher than initially.

when did you receive your 3? wondering how early of a vin it is, I haven't seen any issues like this, knock on wood. You might be able to complain regarding lemon laws if you get a few more service visits under your belt.

What section does it say that? I've been charging it to like 70% then leaving it unplugged until it gets down to ~20%. Sounds like I should just charge/top off to like 50% nightly?

I went 14-50 with a 200 amp upgrade. Was not necessary and I don't think it's needed unless you drive 100+ miles daily and even more on weekends.

knock on wood I haven't experienced any of the things the article complains about. I'm sure some people are super anal, I'm not. Car seems solid, fit and finish is nice, runs and looks great and is a long range EV. Extremely happy with it.

Does anyone know if pre-heating the cabin via the app also preconditions/heats the battery? Going to max charge my battery and head on a road trip in a few weeks so I was wonderin how to maximize my range/battery performance (in cold weather).

I'm averaging like 340+ but it's pretty cold atm in Chicago. I'm assuming thats a major factor.

Maybe tire/road noise is dampened or naturally lower on the 3, so you hear the wind more. It's raining pretty heavily where I'm at so I won't be able to do a similar test until later.

really? I didn't notice this at all. Maybe a few model 3 owners can do some tests going like 75mph on a highway in 3 with those decibel apps and see what the results are. Wonder if it's production line issues with sealing, or if it's all 3s.

Yea that's my guess too. I also noticed my tires were around 39PSI each, and when I left today they had topped them off to 44 - 45. So maybe Highland Park, IL Service Center really rushed to get my car out the door. Either way, I'm happy with the quick resolution.

UPDATE Great news! It was just slightly low on coolant! Reason why it would turn off the warning when turning left is that the sensor is on the right side of the tank. I asked why it was low on coolant and basically they said they fill them up in CA before being shipped, it's warmer there so...
