FSD Update - New Autopilot AI Computer rolling out soon

What are the chances that this is "Elon Speak"? Which translates to: "His company can't deliver what his mouth is promising".

    M3 Key FOB

@jjrandorin: There were several sources of the statement that was made by Musk. Here is one of them. You can google the subject and find more. As for the lanyard, it states, in the instructions, that the lanyard is included. Model 3 Key Fob Will Be Free for Current Owners, Standard for New...

    M3 Key FOB

The FOB was supposed to be Free to M3 owners. The instructions plainly say that the lanyard is included. Elon strikes again!

    Voice command doesn't register

Never had it happen until the last couple of days with 50.6. It seems like something downloaded without announcing itself since the 50.6 firmware update. My windshield wiper behavior has changed (for the better).

I find the M3’s rear visibility poor

I've been having rear visibility problems, mostly with moving from the left lane to the right lane. The rear head restraints interfere with watching the transition of right lane cars from the side view mirror to the rear view mirror (also not being able to see the headlights I've done two...

    Pop-up Trunk Lid

I know that there is a mod for making the Frunk open up when the Frunk release is actuated. Has anybody come up with a similar release for the trunk?

M3 online car manual not working ?

A new edition of the owners manual was published on-line on 11/15. It's dated 11/12/18. The old one was 08/01. Time to crank up the laser printer!

    Poor regen when reversing

There is no regen in reverse, butt there's a handy control right next to the accelerator. It's called a brake. use it to slow down as you back down the driveway.

Good sites to use with the web browser...

With all the potentialy serious drivability problems in autopilot, dashcam, summon, etc to name a few, why in the world is Tesla wasting valuable programing time on a web browser. Wait - I know - so you can watch Youtube videos while on autopilot with autopilot helper attached

Tesla making Model 3 regen braking stronger via OTA update

I'm not 100 % positive, but I think that the regen was increased by an OTA update inedpendent of a numbered firmeware update. I installed 39.7 a couple of weeks ago. The regen didn't seem changed from the last update. Yesterday, as soon as I started to drive the car (RWD-LR) the regen felt...

    Model 3 Software Updates

I think there's something Tesla's not telling us. Probably a bug in the V-9 upgrade that they have to fix before the full roll-out starts.

    Recommended USB drive for dashcam

Everybody has to consider that the drive must be set up in FAT32 format. The size limit of FAT32 is 32 gigs.. There are utilities that can expand that size for larger drives, but they require some degree of computer expertise. So, don't waste your money. Get a 32 Gig drive. I don't know...

    Model 3 Software Updates

According to what I'm seeing on Teslafi.com, very few Model 3's are currently getting the upgrade. I did receive an email from Tesla yesterday afternoon announcing the upgrade and detailing the changes.

    Very high charging rate

Drove from Long Island to Rochester, NY yesterday. Stopped an Tannersville, PA supercharger on the way and continued up to Rochester. When we reached Victor, NY (just outside Rochester) the car was down to 30 miles, so we did a "pit stop" When I plugged into the charger, it quickly jumped up...

    Wind noise seems somewhat obtrusive

I found that there was wind noise coming from the roof. It wasn't obtrusive, but it was there. I installed the RPM thingy and it was reduced considerably, but still there. The tire and road noise is now louder than the roof noise. The overall noise is at the level of an ICE ultra luxury sedan...

    Change in Summon

Solved it myself. There's a customize summon sub-menu. You can set up the garage door to automatically open/close when you initiate summon. Unfortunately, summon is not yet stable enough to make the operation automatic.

    Change in Summon

Using Summon on my M3 has always been a little touchy. It doesn't always start right away. Usually takes a couple of minutes before it gets going. But, in the last couple of days it's operation has changed. By the way, I'm currently running Firmware Ver. 2018 32.2. I was using the homelink...

RPM Tesla Wind Noise Reduction Kit

Took delivery on my car 7/17/18. Installed the noise reduction kit ~7/25. The installation was easy - just follow the video instructions. There is definitely a noticeable reduction of wind noise above 55 - 60 MPH. I just looked at the installation this morning while I was washing the car...

    QUIBBLES

All three mirrors are much too small. The horn requires a heavy handed touch, making it difficult and unreliable to use.

Road noise caused by roof seams

OK! I didn't take any really long runs, but at speeds over 50 MPH, the noise coming from the roof is definitely lower. Now if I just install the force field modification, I will be able to get rid of the road and tire noise. Seriously, the RPM Tesla kit looks like a keeper.

    2018.28.1

The update downloaded into my car this morning. I don't know what the notes for 26.1 or .3 said, so I can't tell if there is a difference. It does talk about a new speed limit setting that nobody has mentioned before.
  27. S

Road noise caused by roof seams

RPMTesla seal kit came yesterday. I installed it this afternoon. The install took about 30 minutes. Pretty straight forward. I'll check it out over the next couple of days and report back about noise reduction.

What is the normal battery usage for the M3 LR

Reason for the high efficiency was that speed was rarely above 50 MPH. Anybody living in the NY Metro are will understand.

What is the normal battery usage for the M3 LR

Guys - its the round trip. It was 46 miles one way. The discrepancy is in taking a slightly shorter route on the return drive
  30. S

What is the normal battery usage for the M3 LR

Thanks, Krugerrand. The route I took involved crossing Manhattan, and going over the George Washington bridge, so speeds were generally under 50MPH, even 40 in some areas. It would be interesting to see what usage details are for other drivers in different driving situations. I wonder if there...

What is the normal battery usage for the M3 LR

Just recently took delivery on my Model 3. I've only put 500 miles on it so far. We Drove from home base (Melville, NY) to Paramus NJ yesterday, a distance of ~46 miles. For the first time, I zeroed out the odometer before the trip to see what the battery usage was. The results were: 95...

    Swipe down on navigate

Wow! Talk about non-user friendly. Yes, it does work. I don't think they could have made it any more difficult if they tried. Wait! They did try. There is nothing in the user manual about any of this.

    Swipe down on navigate

OK, I see how you created the Nav point. You're selecting it on the map. When you do that, it gives you the opportunity to edit the name. However, when you create a Nav point by saying: "Navigate to 12 Elm Street Anywhere, Utah, the address becomes the name and you can't edit it. If you look...

The cars voice recognition is superb. That being said, It needs more user saved data to recognize. First on my list would be a user created database of names and addresses. Remembering "Jane Smith" is a lot easier than remembering her address "34905 Over the Hill Street, Fast Draw, Kansas"...

    2018.26.3 be4b11e update

Since I live only about 10 minutes away from the Syosset SC, I decided to test out your theory. I pulled into the parking lot and got as close to the building as I could. The car tried to pair with the Service Center wireless, but didn't succeed. I sat there for 15 minutes, but no bolt of...

    Name - address list

This seems to be the same command set that works on the Model 3 as well. I was hoping for the ability to create contacts and addresses in named lists like those available in most other car's nav systems.

    Name - address list

All of my previous auto nav systems both built into the car and Garmin portable units had the ability to accept names and addresses so that I could say "navigate to Sam Smith's home". Names are easier to remember than street addresses. There doesn't seem to be any way to note any information...

    Safety Feature Request

I sent an inquiry in about the back up warning feature and received a response in less than 24 hours indicating that they thought this was a desirable feature and that they would look into it. That's a great response, but I'm a little puzzled that they hadn't thought of it before, when several...

Model 3 improvement wish list, additions?

Is there any way that these concerns can be communicated to Tesla in a way that elicits some kind of reply?

Road noise caused by roof seams

Thanks, Trevor B. I hate reinventing the wheel. When I did the original search for the topic, I think I used road noise in the search instead of wind noise. Now, I'm wondering whether I should have ordered the RPMtesla product.
