    Unfortunate fatality in Model 3

This sounds just like the AP1 semi t-bone incident. Musk tried to get out of that by claiming the AP2 hardware would never miss the truck. Well, obviously, it can't handle it either. Liability = Tesla. I'm surprised that incidents like this aren't making front page news anymore. It's...

Vanity Fair Bethany Mclean hit piece for Chanos

Surprised because it cuts to the heart of your fanboi narrative? Maybe, just maybe, there's merit to what this thorough article is saying. But no, any negativity must be classified as a "hitpiece". Classic trump-like defense.

Rejected 4 cars, was told they would not request more cars for me

He's been saying that for years now. Hope springs eternal but at what point do you just concede that Tesla is just incapable of high quality?

Blog Tesla Sued for Deadly Crash on Autopilot

The cases where autopilot fails are those that humans navigate with ease. Consequently, the average driver will NOT, I repeat, NOT anticipate these failures and will be caught unprepared. He or she has no concept of the difference between regular intelligence and artificial intelligence...

Am I the only person who thinks the Y is kinda fugly?

Anyone who says this in relation to taste is really willing themselves into it ala Stockholm Syndrome. I hear it the most with fans of bands trying to like bad albums.

Am I the only person who thinks the Y is kinda fugly?

Oh really? I get that Tesla is trying their best to reduce pack costs for base models (hence the smallest possible pack size for >200 miles) but the Kia Niro has more of a SUV shape with more of a notched back on it and its range is still exceptional for a 64kwh pack.
  8. M

Am I the only person who thinks the Y is kinda fugly?

Tesla as a brand was founded around looks. Something like Volvo would be more of a practicality brand.

Am I the only person who thinks the Y is kinda fugly?

"The biggest problem with the E-Tron is the Electrify America network isn't anywhere close to the size, and number of stalls that the Supercharger network has." By 2021 when most mere mortals are in a position to drive away with a Y expect the CCS fast-charge network in the US to be viable...

Don't bother reserving a Y on the first day.

Tesla never said what would or wouldn't come out before the reveal when everyone was in line. And options have been a constantly moving target. Remember the steel roof? Remember hints of a sunroof option? Those who stood in line (like me) did so based on a leap of faith. I also wanted the...

Solicitation for Opinions on Tesla Service and Recent Pricing Changes

If we hadn't seen the autopilot fatalities I'd be more optimistic about Tesla's roadmap, and we perhaps had yet another one recently which replayed the Autopilot 1 fatality despite it being on Autopilot 2.x. Why can't the newest system avoid past fatal errors??? Plus all the recent...

Solicitation for Opinions on Tesla Service and Recent Pricing Changes

No way in hell their flavor of FSD will actually be FSD in any real-world sense of the term.
  13. M

Solicitation for Opinions on Tesla Service and Recent Pricing Changes

Not to mention a feature that is effectively science-fiction. It's basically a crowdfunding campaign ala Star Citizen. The class-action will come when those who prepaid feel they've waited long enough and FSD has remained vaporware.

Tesla Removes Mention Of Standard Range Model 3 From Its Website. What's Going On?

Not sure why you don't get it. It's a pretty simple concept. The moves a company makes are due to the leadership at said company. Change the leadership and it's easier to forgive. Musk is the one who goes out there and issues these promises and fails to deliver. The buck stops with him...

Tesla Removes Mention Of Standard Range Model 3 From Its Website. What's Going On?

Are those two companies under the same executive management as during the scandal? How about Tesla? Already punished by the SEC once, perhaps now a second time. The buck stops at Musk's desk, whether he's sitting behind it or sleeping underneath.

    Rich Rebuilds CPO disaster

I don't think stockholders would view Tesla as a success if they accomplish that mission (i.e. acting as a catalyst for the majors) while going under in the process.
  17. M

    Rich Rebuilds CPO disaster

It's all about brand reputation. Tesla is surfing on what I would consider to be "inflated" brand reputation, a halo. Enough negative word of mouth and that halo disappears and with it their sales. The fastest way to destroy that brand reputation is for influencers like Rich to have poor...

    Rich Rebuilds CPO disaster

I think you're sifting around for an external source of blame to avoid coming to the conclusion that Tesla is mismanaged. There's plenty of evidence to suggest it's mismanaged and that the problem is Musk himself. The Wired piece in particular is quite damaging. That these problems are...

    VW will trample tesla

It's really going the other direction...in europe at least, with Tesla adopting the CCS 2.0 form-factor. I wouldn't be surprised if the same happens in the US eventually, although the transition will probably take a lot longer.
  20. M

    VW will trample tesla

Neither do Tesla fanbois, because they don't want that aspect of Elon's plan to succeed. They want to see all the other automakers humiliated and bankrupted.
  21. M

Well, I Rejected my White P3D-

Last time I checked, ICE and EV cars both require expertise in delivering paint-jobs without cracks and smudges and bumpers that don't fall off in the rain. So Tesla cranking out a lot of cars doesn't help if it establishes a reputation as a car company that doesn't care about quality control...

    Tesla has no competetion

The base model 3 won't be either, and will be less equipped in the interior department. The first vehicles that will tick EVERY box will probably be the VW ID series, as they are designed to be RWD and optional dual-motor just like Tesla. I also think it's untrue that the Kona/Niro are not...

    Tesla has no competetion

Anything can be considered a compliance car if supplies are constrained by battery shortages. So that complaint will persist for a long time regardless of what the car companies really intend. The more important criteria is how buyers who manage to obtain said vehicle feel about it. For those...

    Tesla has no competetion

Typical useless trash-talking. There's plenty of competition looming, starting with the Kona EV which has a lot of advantages over the Model 3 (HUD, heated stearing wheel, cooled seats, CUV form-factor with hatch, cheaper price, probably better build quality, etc...) Expect that not to sit on...

Tesla Board of Directors: Get control over your CEO's Twitter Account!!!

Tesla Board of Directors: Get control over your CEO's Twitter Account!!!

None of whom? And what motivation would "them" have to "do it"? It's not like Tesla's making a profit and even Elon himself said that starting a car company was stupid and risky. All I see here is a big "mission accomplished" banner on an aircraft carrier. In other words, fanbois counting...

    Bob Lutz is Opining Again

So? People here are crapping on Lutz for laying down one prediction while fanbois offer their own. What's the difference? It might as well be a lot of people arguing over who will win the world series.
  32. M

    Bob Lutz is Opining Again

Tesla has been close to death as well, and may be inching closer to its own death. So sure, pot calling the kettle black and all, but that doesn't mean Tesla's situation is hunky dory. All it means is you know how to execute an ad hominem/messenger-shooting fallacy.

    James Murdoch to be chairman?????

If they were going to take money from the Saudis I don't see why they wouldn't put Rupert Murdoch's son in charge.
  34. M

Dear Elon: Please reconsider and take Tesla private

Company performance is not based on CEO popularity/celebrity contests. (For the record, I think Elon belongs at SpaceX and to have only a minor supporting role at Tesla.)
  35. M

Tesla Board of Directors: Get control over your CEO's Twitter Account!!!

It's not logic. There are billions of people on this planet. Have you personally done an accounting of the skills of every last one of them? Elon Musk is a smart guy but he's not as precious and irreplaceable as his acolytes make him out to be. When I see this sort of naive/childhlike...

Big deal? People don't like taking ownership of cars with cruddy paint-jobs or having their bumpers fall off in the rain.

Which is why your opinion doesn't really matter here. You're drowning in kool-aid.

Worst Tesla Delivery experience (in my experience)

That's what class-action suits are for. Tesla is probably heading for one in a year or two if FSD remains woefully half-baked.

Blog Musk Settles SEC Fraud Charges, Will Step Down as Tesla’s Chairman

Where in the blog post does it say this? What we know is that the Saudis dropped out (hence funding not initially secured) and then you have this statement below: "a number of institutional shareholders have explained that they have internal compliance issues that limit how much they can...

Speculation: Could be Elon be forced out as CEO?

That's because they run a tighter ship and delegate. Seriously, people give him credit for solving problems which are merely a symptom of his overall shortcomings as a manager. Good planning and organization prevents having to manage in this constant panic-mode.
  48. M

    SEC Lawsuit

That's not good enough. There's something in business known as due diligence. You don't secure a multi-billion-dollar deal verbally. Heck, you don't even finalize a house purchase that way (hence credit checks, escrow, etc...)
