Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

It was hard enough to build an ap1000 and an ap1000 don't think anyone is doing that again anytime soon

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

Yes the abundance of corn is also terrible.. I'm not going after anybody simply saying I don't know that covering up farmland with solar panels is always a great idea

You haven't heard of solar farm leases? https://www.agriculture.com/common-offer-to-lease-farmland-for-solar-panels-usd1-000-an-acre-8604982

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

Maybe you missed where I said I'm a fan of multiple energy sources.. but they don't always make sense in every area .. yes Kansas and West Texas should put up wind turbines and solar in the Arizona desert But I'm not ot sure replacing farmland in south Georgia with solar is a good idea

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

why not? because it will never grow back ... however i dont have a problem with that in this case as the damage is done (then again why not just keep mining the hole?)... I still don't like the clear cut of acres of scenic mountain tops for windmills either though

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

i dunno i probably would have preferred they planted trees back or let the forest take back over

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

here is a quora discussion on a similar topic https://www.quora.com/Is-it-good-for-the-environment-to-chop-down-over-16-million-trees-in-Scotland-to-make-way-for-wind-farms

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

it doesnt take a rocket scientist to realize the physical footprint of wind and solar is larger than many other forms of electric generation.. ive driven down that road before and after the wind turbines were installed.. it went from a fun and beautiful scenic drive to a wasteland of obscured...

dont really need to its the internet.. but there is a whole facebook group dedicated to it https://www.facebook.com/groups/835899539823505/

i dont find it funny at all that they cut down an entire forest and call it "clean energy"

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

I'd throw hydro and synchronous condensers on the list as well.. also I'd rather have clean coal than wind turbines in some areas like what used to be the beautiful forest covered mountains in west Virginia where they clear cut the trees and replaced them with wind turbines it's one of the...

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

My point is that we need diversity in energy sources and our goal should be energy independence and that existing nuclear plants are relatively cheap sources per kw and have zero emissions, 24 hour runtime, and very low land use no reason to get rid of it
  14. G

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

Until a hail storm hits Solar is great in the desert but ain't working in a place like Manhattan.. you can make up a turbine replacement cost in a couple days of high market pricing Part of the reason solar is cheap is because the panels are subsidized by Chinese government And no we never...
  15. G

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

Gas turbines produce electricity at a lower cost per kw than solar and have a higher capacity factor and a longer lifespan they are thermally very efficient economics matters
  16. G

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

That was a typo.. future of nuclear was over I meant Of course economics matters that's why gas and coal are so great it's very cheap
  17. G

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

I used to work in nuclear but when trump got elected over Hillary in 2016 I figured the future of nuclear was over and that seems to be the trend Without government intervention we'd be burning nothing but coal and gas
  18. G

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

Seems like you'd like nuclear if it is anti capitalist, right? Every utility is subsidized especially wind and solar that's a poor reason to be against a technology Hell I wouldn't have solar panels if the government didn't pay for a 3rd of it
  19. G

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

except he's not in kentucky he's in california where the price per kwh is much higher.. his COP is barely above 1 so probably it would have been cheaper to heat with gas as-is often the case in extreme cold
  20. G

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

i was joking really.. but on a serious note i doubt there is enough solar out when it is near 0 degrees.. at least my solar would not be near enough to keep up during those temperatures i take it youre more of a socialist then?
  21. G

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

That sounds expensive.. have you looked into gas heat? it could save you tons of money
  22. G

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

Your two links are added government programs while his link is a reduction of government oversight As a free market capitalist I'm all for less government
  23. G

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

I'm not debating that a gas top uses more energy than a convection.. im debating the opposite You said you can use 2x more energy while consuming less... The sentence is missing part of your point.. consuming less (fossil fuels) Which is what I originally said

Going to the mesa Verde RV park near entrance of national park still nervous though any wind plus extra hot ac blasting may force me to detour to bluff.. Yeah the nav doesn't know about CCS chargers I will just put bluff as my destination I've found ABRP is pretty good if you dial in all your settings about 277 wh/mi is my calibrated 65mph efficiency.. the problem though is you never know how the wind is going to blow that day which makes a huge...

  28. G

Prediction: Coal has fallen. Nuclear is next then Oil.

Using and consuming mean the same thing.. I assume you mean consuming less fossil fuels though Also lemme just say nothing heats like gas I hate heat pumps give me my natural gas furnace when it's -10

    Supercharger - Kayenta, AZ

ABRP says I can make it direct if I drive slow the alternative is to go through bluff Utah and use a CCS charger
