    Supercharger - Myrtle Creek, OR

And painted lines with no cones is actually a big deal at this point since we know the transformer and meter are in. Turn on the lights!

Do you mean an SR+? Or Performance with LG battery? I don’t think Performance with LFP battery has ever been seen or proposed.

How is Tesla calculating sales tax and RTA tax?

Sales tax isn't based upon MSRP, that's only the RTA tax that uses MSRP. Sales tax is based upon full purchase price of $54,790. As @camminich says, they got the wrong location (but they used Seattle, not Lynnwood or Bellevue). Seattle vehicle tax rate is 10.55% vs Bellevue at 10.4% and Lynwood...

Help testing my charging setup? N. Seattle area

I'd check the connections. 10 AWG has a resistance of about 1 ohm per 1000'. That would only be about 1.1V @ 12A over 90'. So ~6V of your 7V drop is due to the connections plus your house wiring.

Rotten egg smell… not sure it’s the AC.

What was the food? My guess would be concentrated food odors. Or perhaps your “Ohmmu” battery was purchased at a discount and was just as heavy as the original battery? ;)

    Orcas Island with a Tesla

If you happen to be renting a house, bring an extension cord. A 120V outlet would cover all of your charging needs on the island.

    Supercharger - Troutdale, OR

I agree the "curb" doesn't sound right, but it seems pretty likely to me that they're talking about the back-to-back rows in the lower area highlighted by @agegamon. Four spaces in each row facing each other with pedestals in between. They may have assumed the pedestals are mounted on a curb...

    Supercharger - Seaside, OR

That might just be an app issue, did you check in the car? I noticed earlier this week several Seattle area sites weren’t showing in my app. Pulling up Seaside in my NAV, it looks fine right now with 7 of 8 stalls available.

If it’s just a BMS calibration error, that’s probably a good plan. If you actually have some bad cells, I think a good test might be to take it down to low SOC without stopping. With low capacity cells, I’d expect to see increasing imbalance vs the good cells as you discharge.

    Supercharger - Troutdale, OR

This one’s been showing Q3 2021 for at least a couple months now. Possibly a good sign that it didn’t get shifted to a later quarter like most other sites, but I doubt that means a whole lot.

    Charging Adapters

Check whether those 120V outlets are 15 or 20 amp. I’d expect 20 amp in a garage. If so, then get the Tesla 5-20 adapter for $35. You’ll gain about 6mph vs about 4. If you need an extension cord to reach, be sure to get a 20 amp 5-20 extension cord too.

12V Battery Just Died - Total battery failure

Yeah, in the hole with the wires. I just wrapped it to the wires with some Saran Wrap. I saw someone else put the A23 in a piece of 3/8 ID rubber hose.

12V Battery Just Died - Total battery failure

I’ve seen enough reports of 12V battery failures without warning that I keep a little A23 battery in the front bumper to pop the frunk, and then one of these in the frunk to jump the battery: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015TKUPIC

Using ~30 miles per day while parked

It’s an older style widget where you have to swipe right from the Home Screen. I don’t think there’s an iOS 14 style one where you can put it in the Home Screen. Swipe right from Home Screen. Scroll to bottom, select Edit. Scroll to bottom, select Customize. Scroll down to Tesla, hit “+”...

Using ~30 miles per day while parked

Right. That’s what the 12V battery is for. The car has active Bluetooth and LTE while sleeping, but no WiFi until it wakes. Way back, the car would wake and unlock if you got close enough, but they changed that so that you have to touch a door handle. It was annoying when doing something like...

Using ~30 miles per day while parked

An easy way to verify that your car is asleep without waking it is to check the iOS widget (don’t open the app). Not sure about this on Android.

Washington SB 5444 - to impose a mileage tax on owners of electric and hybrid vehicles

Yeah, but I don’t think $5 or $10 comes anywhere close to paying for the extra road damage. One article at the time of the $100 per studded tire proposal stated that it was expected to bring in less than $2M per year, yet WSDOT estimated studded tires cause an extra $20M+ of damage annually. If...

Oh, nothing to apologize for, we’re all just trying to figure this stuff out. I don’t know much about the -R revision. I’ve only seen it mentioned a couple of times, and I think those users didn’t know their pack size. One was an early 2021 LR in the US that was getting this pack as a...

Washington SB 5444 - to impose a mileage tax on owners of electric and hybrid vehicles

I’m sure they’l l approve a mileage tax at some point in the future, but I don’t believe this year’s legislature did so. SB 5444 didn’t make it out of committee.

    Supercharger - Sammamish, WA (LIVE 12 Mar 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

Good point, and I think MOD Pizza is actually a better match for the 220 228TH AVE NE address. The 76 station address is 240. I don’t see anything at the 220 number, but the two businesses in the same building as MOD Pizza directly to the south are 218 and 216 228TH. MOD Pizza has an address on...

    Supercharger - Williams Lake, BC

The cars definitely use AC power to heat the cabin and battery, regardless of whether equipped with a resistive heater or heat pump. The one difference from what you are envisioning is that the heating actually takes priority, and whatever is left over is used to charge the battery.

    charging hardware suggestions for driveway

And I was only suggesting a spare if you install a third party EVSE at home, because then it’s easiest to keep one with the EVSE at home and keep one in the car. If you install the Tesla Wall Connector at home, it plugs directly into the car, no adapter necessary. The J1772 adapter that comes...

    charging hardware suggestions for driveway

You’re going to get lots of suggestions on a forum like this. I think you had the best and simplest solution right from the start. If it will reach, just install a Tesla Wall Connector to the outside of that shed.

    charging hardware suggestions for driveway

Here’s the little J1772 adapter. Sold by Tesla and in stock. One comes with the car. You could buy a second one since it is good to always have one in the car for using public chargers. This is completely separate from the “big” Mobile Connector that comes with the car for charging from an...

That may not be allowed by the electric code. Don’t know about your local rules, but generally you can’t have flexible cable like the charging cord passing through walls.

Have you verified the actual charge in your Tesla account? I recall someone from CA reporting that the car showed the higher price, but they were actually billed at the lower rate.

Supercharger - Kalispell, MT (under construction Apr 2024, 12 V3 stalls)

I wonder if there’s really any difference between a pin labeled 2022 and no pin at all. I think of those pins tagged with future years as more of a suggestion than an actual plan. Once I see a quarter assigned to the date, then I start to believe they might actually have a plan.

Washington to ban all new gas car sales in 2030

I don't think we should be referring to this legislation as a "ban". Sure, maybe that's where it's headed, but the actual bill that passed was really soft on the language. It only specifies this as a "goal" with no enforcement behind it. Text of the relevant section of the bill (bold highlights...

The thing that makes me think the new post placement is by design is that they also removed the parking blocks from the pavement. These seem to be combination bumpers and signs. But yeah, placement is terrible for bike racks.

Washington to ban all new gas car sales in 2030

Increasingly Frustrated with Oregon Supercharger Situation

Agreed. My preference would be Biggs Junction, since it would serve both I-84 and Hwy 97 traffic. Hwy 97 is usually my preferred route from Seattle to Bend. Hood River will help with I-84 redundancy, at least. However, I think a lot of people don't recognize that Supercharger location is highly...

Washington SB 5444 - to impose a mileage tax on owners of electric and hybrid vehicles

Oregon has an optional $.018 per mile program. Could save a little if your mileage is really low. I think EV registration is $220 less per 2 years with that option so the break even point is around 6k miles per year. https://www.oregon.gov/odot/Programs/RUF/OReGO%20registration%20fees%20brochure.pdf

    Supercharger - Myrtle Creek, OR

Yeah, I noticed the stores there (Grocery Outlet, Dollar Tree, Tractor Supply Company) all have a Myrtle Creek address, even though they seem to be outside the city limits. Close enough to meet Tesla’s Supercharger pin criteria, I’d think. Tractor Supply appears to have opened about a year ago...

Supercharger - Madras, OR (LIVE Jul 2022, 8 V3 stalls)

Note though that this rule doesn’t apply to the newer V3 (250kW) sites or Urban (72kW) chargers. Those don’t do the A/B sharing like the V2 (typically 150kW) sites, and (at least in theory) it shouldn’t matter which stall you pick with V3 or Urban.
  48. L

Supercharger - Madras, OR (LIVE Jul 2022, 8 V3 stalls)

No. Stalls share when they have a common number, not common letter. 1A shares with 1B, 2A shares with 2B, and 3A doesn’t share.
  49. L

    Supercharger - Myrtle Creek, OR

Yeah, that’s it. Maybe I shouldn’t have used that phrase, as it doesn’t look like a full service truck stop. There’s a Pacific Pride commercial fueling station behind the Chevron and lots of space for trucks to park.
