Looking for ways to get a deal on a Model 3

So how is there not a demand issue if they're selling P3Ds for under $50k before tax credits, again? It's absurd how fast the values of these vehicles have dropped. An LR AWD was $60k less than four months ago, call it $57k with the larger tax credit!

    Denied Resale Value Guarantee (RVG)

Everyone here says that Tesla's have the best resale value. If that's the case, then why is an RVG program even needed or desirable?

Genius level IQ people. Explain what Tesla is doing!?!

If you believe in a single, one dimensional metric accurately measuring cognitive ability across the sum total of the human experience, then lol

Don’t use suction cup devices on the piano black

It's pretty cool how both the dash and console basically self-destruct if you touch them.

Yes!!! Enhanced summon is on its way.....

I value the post you responded to far more than your own. Know why? Because it's based on first hand experience with how the car operates, versus your post that relies upon unknowns (like how powerful HW3 will be, or when it will be available). You may disagree with the posters feelings, but...

I need to know about your rattles....

Can you link me to a professional review that took the car onto a dirt road? Because that's where it rattles a fair amount, for me. No need for the condescension and poor reading comprehension. I don't know, nor do I care, what's "endemic" to the 3, only what I experienced. There's really no...

I need to know about your rattles....

Don't try to bully me out of my opinion. I live on a dirt road and my 3 definitely rattled on it. It wasn't terrible but it was there.
  8. M

Yes!!! Enhanced summon is on its way.....

I'll take that bet. I got a lot of free lunches due to Elon's FSD timeline promises already. Also agreed that the reliance on OpenStreetMap data is really bad. In my experience any road built within the last 5 years has insanely inaccurate lane and speed data. Huge swaths of rural Colorado have...

I need to know about your rattles....

If you live on perfect, fresh tarmac I agree that rattles are rarely an issue. However my 3 definitely rattled a fair amount on the dirt road I live on where my Leaf does not and it occasionally rattled on less than perfect surfaces. There are multiple rattle threads on the front page of this...

Why FSD will never fully work on current cars

If you think EAP is nearly perfect, try it on I-70 through Colorado in the summer, let alone the winter.

Don't buy FSD for $2k more. [from 2019 - FSD upgrade not available for 2k at this time]

Ok I disagree, would the computer be able to figure out whose turn it was when three cars arrive at the intersection simultaneously? I see no reason to believe it would.
  12. M

Don't buy FSD for $2k more. [from 2019 - FSD upgrade not available for 2k at this time]

Yeah, see the thing is that none of those things are legally binding like a statement on the website or buying flow would be.
  13. M

Am at a loss: is the $2k FSD offer going away on Monday?

Well, every fact except the sales contract for the FSD upgrade.
  14. M

Don't buy FSD for $2k more. [from 2019 - FSD upgrade not available for 2k at this time]

Just a reminder that there's no obligation for Tesla to give you HW3. If it were definitely true it would be on the site, written out, in plain English. Tweets don't obligate Tesla to make good on this.

POLL: Changes in feeling toward Tesla

I just don't believe FSD is ever going to actually be anything close to what most folks envision 'full self driving' is. For example, there are some nasty right turns in my area that you can turn on when the light's red. These turns don't have proper striping, and you need to look pretty far...

O M G Another car company changing prices

A $700 increase that happens annually isn't *quite* the same as the insanely erratic and massive price changes that have randomly occurred with Tesla, but you do you OP! In addition, if you own an '18 Colorado, the MSRP of a '19 Colorado doesn't affect you. When Tesla dropped my car $4k in...

Tesla fixes AP & FSD price mess. Prices going back up...

Owners or Fred Lambert or whoever didn't 'make' Tesla do anything. If you're mad about Tesla's direction, that blame lies solely with Elon and Tesla.
  18. M

Tesla fixes AP & FSD price mess. Prices going back up...

FSD is not and never will be a thing. Sure, maybe you'll be able to stop at stop lights. But you won't ever be making automatic turns or other things critical to a product called full SELF DRIVING. You'll get more gimmicky crap like NoA.

POLL: Changes in feeling toward Tesla

I think he's bored with Tesla and more interested in his other projects now. Tbf the work Boring and SpaceX are doing is cool.

Genius level IQ people. Explain what Tesla is doing!?!

I'm sorry, I simply can't. I can tell by the way you type that you're three standard deviations below me in IQ.

This will be an unpopular view but...

Yep, you're right. Their autopark is better.
  22. M

Genius level IQ people. Explain what Tesla is doing!?!

I am 161 IQ and everything Elon does makes sense to me. If you can't understand that's on you and your poorly shaped cranium.

Genius level IQ people. Explain what Tesla is doing!?!

I'm so smart that most of you can't even relate to the truth of what I'm saying.

Devoted Teslonian now developing a resentment

Can you imagine how hilariously depreciated early M3P+ buyers would be if they hadn't gotten a refund? It would be mind boggling are this point.
  25. M

This will be an unpopular view but...

NoA and autopark definitely have LOW reliability!
  26. M

Genius level IQ people. Explain what Tesla is doing!?!

I have a 161 IQ and I think randomly closing and opening stores is a brilliant move.
  27. M

3% Price increase across the board

If that's going to be your tack, it's an admission that FSD is never happening. NoA and autopark are wonky and not reliable.
  28. M

Genius level IQ people. Explain what Tesla is doing!?!

No they literally cannot. That's now how higher end real estate leases work, which to this point is mostly where they've been.
  29. M

3% Price increase across the board

Exactly, anyone expecting a single new feature from promising FSD is a fool, agreed. Since as you said, what's in the car today is all you should expect.
  30. M

3% Price increase across the board

Good luck with more erratic price changes? I don't think good luck is needed.
  31. M

FSD, would like that $1K back please

This. I would have gotten basic AP if it were an option, NoA and the worthless autopark feature I wouldn't pay a dime for.
  32. M

Elon Musk says Tesla will raise prices and slow down store closures

Yep, the ones making the erratic decisions. Good point.

    Tesla Warranty Repair Changes

This is a joke, right? My lived experience with Tesla makes me a spreader of fear? You're way down the fanboy hole if my observation that my Leaf is quieter frightens you, or if that treatment by an SA frightens you. Seriously, quote my FUD from this thread, I dare you.
  34. M

This will be an unpopular view but...

I'd be fine with it too if I could get the useful.parts of EAP for $3k less. Oh and Stealthpeed, I'd say taking its pretty entitled to go around telling other owners that they're not allowed to have opinions of their own.
  35. M

Reduced price Autopilot & FSD for existing owners announced March 1st

I was pissed at the price drops but just lol at not refunding FSD pre purchasers. There's no excuse for that.

    Tesla Warranty Repair Changes

I mean, I know my Leaf is quieter than a 3. It also cost about a third of what a 3 does after credits and rebates. It is revealing to me when people make a comparison of a 3 to an old Nissan and go "unrealistic! hypercritical!" I don't know if Tesla makes creakier or noisier cars than average...
  38. M

    Tesla Warranty Repair Changes

It's the hyperdefensiveness that makes people laugh at fanboys here. Like, ok, you found some mercedes that rattle, that's cool. My Leaf is also WAY quieter than a 3 re: rattles, wind noise, and road noise. Sure the 3 is way faster and goes further but the criticism is real.

    FUD threads in TMC?

How the **** can OWNERS be spreading FUD? Seriously, piss off telling people that bought a 3 and aren't 100 percent happy that they're not right.
  40. M

Ars: Tesla has a self-driving strategy other companies abandoned years ago

Lol, anyone who has extensively used EAP knows it frequently touches lines and sometimes crosses them in turns. According to that "factual" information that should never happen. And none of that IIHS information covers ProPilot.
  41. M

    FUD threads in TMC?

I got my battery replaced for $29 and my iPhone is good as new.

The cost of a 'free' test drive.

I'm sure that won't hurt sales at all.
  43. M

Ars: Tesla has a self-driving strategy other companies abandoned years ago

Yeah that's not been my experience. ProPilot is pretty damn good. Plus the CR rankings are nonsense and ding you for insufficient nags and "ease of use" which is very subjective, it's not hard to turn on PP. Oh and the entire tech package on a Leaf costs what AP does. Interesting that IIHS...
  44. M

Ars: Tesla has a self-driving strategy other companies abandoned years ago

Yeah but your Honda cost way less and probably still hasn't dropped $4-8k in value. Fact is that AP isn't really much better than Honda Sensing or Nissan ProPilot.
  45. M

Devoted Teslonian now developing a resentment

I sold mine. Ended up only losing 2k plus tax and the delivery fees, but I saw the writing on the wall that I'd be underwater on this car for years if I didn't.
  46. M

Did we pay more for tax incentive in 2018

The comment about Toyota is particularly stupid as I could own a Tacoma for 3 years, sell it, and lose less than my 3 did in a few weeks. Toyota resale value is renowned.
  47. M

Ars: Tesla has a self-driving strategy other companies abandoned years ago

The fact that Tesla considers NoA a feature worth moving to FSD is comical based on how bad it is. If that's the path to FSD, Level 3 autonomy will never happen without major changes.
  48. M

POLL: Changes in feeling toward Tesla

As a 2011 Leafowner that bought new I just have to LOL at this attitude. I was gas free years before most Tesla owners.
  49. M

    FUD threads in TMC?

If you believe Tesla is a for profit, capitalist company, you should understand that sudden and repeated price drops do not maximize profit unless there's a belief that demand is limited at a given price point. Apple doesn't randomly drop prices in the middle of a product cycle.
  50. M

Instead of calling it FSD should we call 10% self driving?

Yeah, not really though. You have no idea what FSD will be capable of - whereas I'm very familiar with EAP and its limitations, like when it almost slams me into a wall when I approach a turn where dirt and slush completely obscure the fog line. I completely agree that HW3 will be better and...
