If they’re positioned at the side, it is much easier for any car with a side-mounted charge port to access the cable, either by reversing in or going in forwards. The only case where it might be more difficult is for those with a front-mounted charge port.

There’s a new 12 charger InstaVolt hub in Bodmin and also a 12 charger Ionity site under construction. There will also be another 8 V4s at Penhale.

If Tesla have decided to open certain sites up to all EVs, then everyone has equal priority. The majority of Superchargers in the UK are exclusively for Teslas, I suggest you stick to those if you object to queuing with muggles.

Tesla open up the SuC network [in UK]

If it’s the same as other V4 sites, it won’t appear on the App for a few days, but will work using a contactless bank card.

I have just been informed by the developer of the App “Superchargers for Tesla” that there will be “support for V4 superchargers” in the next update.

My experience taking Tesla to court about FSD

Well done - To be honest, I’m surprised Tesla didn’t just ignore the claim and subsequent judgement, as they seem to have done with chargegate and rangegate.

Generally there are more than 3 stalls in a row. It is only a problem if the rightmost bay is occupied by someone using the “wrong” charger AND it is not possible to park on the other side of the rightmost charger.
  19. D

Wiki UK and Ireland Supercharger Site News

It only reduces the number of available stalls If the rightmost bay is used and there is no possibility of parking on the other side of the charger, otherwise a Tesla could drive in forwards and use the “wrong” side on the V4s.

Does it matter ? Is there a “right” and “wrong” side if it’s open to all ?

Tesla open up the SuC network [in UK]

No, you don’t have to tell Tesla what car you have. Yes, probably they can tell what car is connected. Why would you want to stop a DPD van charging as opposed to any other car/van ?
  22. D

Wiki UK and Ireland Supercharger Site News

I think that layout makes it more likely that people will have to “steal” cables from the “wrong” side - as you put it.

To stop the charging session, push the button on the CCS plug. Controversial opinion - If they’re open to non-Teslas - Is there a “right” and “wrong” side ?

It doesn’t really matter unless it’s very busy - I can foresee instances with a bike rack when you have to go in forwards and use the “wrong” charger. There should be provision for those towing.
