Reporting from when Fleming's Streakhouse closed earlier this year indicated the complex is getting redeveloped.

Tax credit 2023 [The tax credit discussion thread]

I don’t know, yet. But that reminds me, I should email them and see if they can verify.

Tax credit 2023 [The tax credit discussion thread]

No, she has to be on the seller report that Tesla submits to the IRS, and Tesla gets that info when you tell them how to register the car. And to do that, she’ll need to participate in the pre-delivery registrant task. Even if there were some way around that, I believe it’s a legal requirement...

Tax credit 2023 [The tax credit discussion thread]

You should talk to a tax professional, and I’m not one. But I suspect excluded capital gains would not count toward your AGI.

No warning that I recall, anyway. (Can I no longer edit my posts? Weird!)

Tax credit 2023 [The tax credit discussion thread]

With two registrants, one of us opted in, and the other opted out, so hopefully the seller report will be for the right person. There was no warning, but maybe that’s changed recently.

Tax credit 2023 [The tax credit discussion thread]

So, I did figure this out, I think. When you add the registration details, it asks for your SSN for tax credit purposes. I'm not sure it asked when I first made my order (maybe I forgot), but it asked when I updated the registrant information. It actually asked both registrants, with nothing...

Tax credit 2023 [The tax credit discussion thread]

Does Tesla have you fill out anything for the rebate? Per Topic B, Question 9 from https://www.irs.gov/pub/taxpros/fs-2023-08.pdf Regarding the second bullet, if there are two registered owners, Tesla has to pick one for the seller report, and they have to provide that owner's taxpayer...

The rules change on 4/18, and Tesla sure seems to be implying the MYLR will still qualify for full credit.

    Tesla s U-shaped screen

Instrument cluster is prone to this, too. As said above, get the MCU2 upgrade, and which comes with both new screens. https://www.tesla.com/support/infotainment $1,750, plus tax

Well, that's BS. I thought he whole point of arbitration was to adjudicate such issues!

    Elon & Twitter

I wouldn't trust Elon, either. If he wants to close the deal on the original terms, he should do that. Then, as owner of Twitter, he can just direct them to drop the lawsuit. No need for a new deal.

Tesla Service says my Tesla Model S 2013 60 kw Main battery needs to be replaced

Just took a look behind the wheel, and it's the A revision, as expected. So I guess that's good!

Tesla Service says my Tesla Model S 2013 60 kw Main battery needs to be replaced

So were the later revisions the ones missing cells (and hence suck less)? (Not good for me, since I have one from the first batch of 60s.)

Tesla Service says my Tesla Model S 2013 60 kw Main battery needs to be replaced

That's my understanding, too. 14 modules of 384 cells instead of 16 modules of 444 cells for the 85 kWh pack. Looking at the photos, here, you can see the holes: http://www.autobahnparts.com/part/tesla-60kwh-oem-lithium-battery-module-2-8v-4-5kwh-18650-384-panasonic-cells I guess wk057 is...

    Elon & Twitter

Elon wants us to think that every tweet is from an mDAU, and that obviously more that 5% of those are bots. By in reality, if it’s obviously a bot, it has probably already been excluded from mDAU by Twiitter’s fancy algorithms.

    2022.8.10.1 on MCU1

Exactly. I used to always keep camera on the top half of the display, and map in the bottom. But that’s no longer possible. I lost functionality that was originally part of the car.
  23. M

    2022.8.10.1 on MCU1

This one is really bothering me. It seems to stem from their dumb decision to attach the camera to the media player starting in v10. Now the media player is shorter, so the camera is lower. I really liked the original UI where you could have any two apps on the screen, in any order top to bottom.

    Elon & Twitter

Just read the SEC filing. Twitter essentially says the 5% figure is just a guess and they’re not representing it to be correct. So they didn’t make much of a claim at all around that number.
  25. M

    Elon & Twitter

There's quite a lot of analysis in that article. Perhaps you did not read the whole thing. Yes, there's opinion, too, and I don't agree with the author's assertion that the Twitter acquisition was a joke. But he gets into the details of the contract and the arguments made by Elon's legal team...
  26. M

    Elon & Twitter

I think the mDAU accuracy is just what he makes it about in public. In SEC filings or legal filings, it's about Twitter not providing the information that the contract requires, though they did provide a bunch of data to him.
  27. M

    Elon & Twitter

Sure, as many as possible may be none. But I’m sure many others would quit on their own!
  28. M

    Elon & Twitter

I would definitely quit if Elon bought my employer. I’d probably try to convince as many other employees as possible that it’s time to go.
  29. M

    Elon & Twitter

I think you're talking about embedded tweets, which is different than the API (or a different API) that is used to programmatically read and post tweets. I run a twitter bot (which is totally open about being a bot), and it uses the official twitter API, and it is surely not counted as a mDAU...

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Rancho Carmel Dr (Permit status, 8 stalls)

There's an Oggi's Pizza here. And a place call Quick Wok, which I've never been to. There used to be a Starbuck's, but no more, unfortunately.

Body shop said paints shouldn’t match??

I can’t speak to whether this is true, but I’ve heard this before from various body shops. Some even have sign in their lobby saying this.

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Carmel Mountain Road (LIVE 10 May 2022, 24 V3 stalls)

Yeah, I was just out walking, and the traffic light is out at Carmel Mountain and Canter Heights, along with everything I could see along Canter Heights and Carriage Run Drive. I'm surprised they would plan a night outage that would affect a traffic signal. Even with the temporary stop signs...

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Carmel Mountain Road (LIVE 10 May 2022, 24 V3 stalls)

This afternoon, there was work happening at the pad across the street. There was a big green box on a flatbed truck, a crane, and giant spools of wire.

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Carmel Mountain Road (LIVE 10 May 2022, 24 V3 stalls)

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Carmel Mountain Road (LIVE 10 May 2022, 24 V3 stalls)

Here are some photos I took today. The second and third photos are across the street. I suspect that one is not a transformer, because it has no cooling fins, but it's rather just a junction box.

    Model S REST API

I did not have to start over with step 1. I was still able to use my last refresh token from step 3 to do step 5. The refresh token seem to live for quite a long time, so even if your bearer token has expired, you can still renew. Yes, that's correct. The refresh step above returns a refresh...

My token renewal started failing a few days ago with an "unsupported grant type" error. Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Carmel Mountain Road (LIVE 10 May 2022, 24 V3 stalls)

When I drove by yesterday, it looked like the retaining wall had been rebuilt. I think they worked all weekend on it.

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Carmel Mountain Road (LIVE 10 May 2022, 24 V3 stalls)

Today there is work happenning on both sides of the street. There were definitely some landscapers at the supercharger side. Two things that suggest to me that the work across the street is related to the supercharger: There were some gigantic pieces of conduit laying around the work site, which...

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Carmel Mountain Road (LIVE 10 May 2022, 24 V3 stalls)

Not sure why irrigation would require such a massive hole in the ground, though. Has anyone taken a close look to see what the label is on the vault cover next to the hole? Maybe that would offer a clue.
  44. M

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Carmel Mountain Road (LIVE 10 May 2022, 24 V3 stalls)

Today there was a crew working across the street, again. They have a giant hole dug next to the existing vault that's over there. At the supercharger site itself, they've removed some of the fencing. It looks like the purpose was to open up the pedestrian walkway that connects the parking lot...

    Model S REST API

Just FYI, the legacy /data endpoint seems to be gone. I've been getting 404 on that for a few days. I switched my scripts over to the /vehicle_data endpoint (which seems to have been around for a while), and I'm back in business.

    Model S REST API

When the token is expired, I get back a 401 status code from the HTTP request, which is the standard code for unauthorized. So I'll just kick off a renewal if I see that. I'll probably add some protection against trying to renew the token over and over again, if for some reason I keep getting...

I ran into the same issue. Token became invalid, long before expiration. I guess I will need to update my script for this possibility.

Supercharger - San Diego, CA - Carmel Mountain Road (LIVE 10 May 2022, 24 V3 stalls)

I'm guessing the concrete forms in the last photo are where the supercharger cabinets will go, judging by those clusters of conduit.
