    2023 Holiday Update Imminent

I did get a PS5 controller to pair, but nothing from Xbox and no Apple Airpods.

    2023 Holiday Update Imminent

Got 2023.44.30.2 in my '21 Plaid. Trying to get anything to connect to bluetooth for rear screen (two different Apple Airpods & Xbox Series Controller) but nothing will. Nothing shows at all in search screen. Did a reset on the car, but no bluetooth love.

    Blue dot on Service menu

Dot disappeared so guess it was just informational on the new tire feature.

    Blue dot on Service menu

Nothing in the top left. The top right has an indicator, but it's for the new feature of tracking your mileage on your tires. I've already reset that as it just so happened I bought new wheels/tires two days after this alert showed. Unrelated, but reset that numerous times now.

Doesn’t show anything of interest there. Uploaded the wrong screenshot before

    Blue dot on Service menu

Searched but can’t find the answer anywhere. What is the blue dot on Service menu? There is no corresponding alert or notification present so not sure what it represents. It’s a recent addition - running 2023.20.4.1

Window crack feature still not activated on 2023.12.9

That customization is for the home screen, which I can put the window icon there. What does your Controls screen look like? All screenshots I’ve seen show the bottom right icon as the Vent icon (Controls screen) once the window reactivation update is complete.

Window crack feature still not activated on 2023.12.9

‘21 Plaid on 2023.12.9 but still no access to the reactivated window crack feature. The app still has Homelink in the Control section where the window feature would be.

This solved it for me. Completely forgot about that setting.

Model S Plaid 19" vs 21" rear inner tire wear question.

The issue is pretty much exclusively with the 21’s.
  13. A

Plaids with 20" tires AND rear inner tire wear?

Looking at running 20” 285/35/20 square setup on my Plaid, so definitely interested in if people with 20” wheels are impacted like the 21’s on my car. 19”s are fine so 20” is questionable. I know different tires for those thinking it’s purely a tire issue so not apples to apples.

    OBDII

2021 refresh here, but I just hardwired my radar detector to the ODB connector with a 90 degree hardness off Amazon. Probably the easiest install out of 15+ I've done over the years.

PSA: You can mount All Season tires on the 21” Arachnids on Model S 2021+

Well, guess he was technically correct after all. The reason these don't pull up in his system is that this tire is no longer in production. I called Goodyear to confirm. They no longer make all-seasons in this size.

PSA: You can mount All Season tires on the 21” Arachnids on Model S 2021+

Don’t take offense - I was asking for the picture so I can show it to Discount Tire who keeps telling me these don’t exist. This is exactly what I was looking for. Michelin is what’s on most of these and that’s where some of the confusion is coming in. Thanks!

Looking at running this same setup. How has this worked out for you over the last several months?

21 inch from wheels making popping noise when turned to extreme?

This is normal with many cars with larger width front tires. My Vipers did the same thing as well as one of the Vette's. It basically boils down to the inside vs the outside of the tire not rotating at the same rate (due to the width of the tire). This causes the slower turning side (inside) to...

PSA: You can mount All Season tires on the 21” Arachnids on Model S 2021+

This is just the front tire size. Doesn't appear they make this tire in 295/30/R21 (rear)

    12V Access: Model S 2021 Refresh

Used the ODB-II plug (pins 16 & 5) to hardwire a Uniden DFR7 with no issues. Ended up being the quickest hardwire install I've done in years.

Model S plaid vs. Model 3 Performance

I just went from a M3P to a MS Plaid. The 1 second quicker to 60 doesn't tell half the story. The car is absolutely restricted at launch due to traction. If you floor it at 60mph, you can feel it would still break loose if it wasn't for traction management. I had 2 Gen 5 Vipers, and they would...

Taptes Wireless Charger Not Working After 2019.8.3

My Taptes Wireless Charger has been working fine for a couple months, but as soon as I installed 2019.8.3, I just get a flashing orange light on the charger now. This causes the phone to cycle between charging and not every 5 seconds or so. Tried both sides of the charging mat and both USB...

Umm I think I got autopilot for free? How to confirm?

Yes, but she said she "didn't didn't" (She told me the car didn’t didn’t come without any auto pilot), therefore it's back to it not coming with autopilot. I think we're at a triple negative here - not sure, loosing count :p

    Efficiency LR AWD vs P3D

I can get as low as 265 with my P3D on average city streets (in around 65 degree weather). That’s being pretty conservative on the accelerator though. Total average is about 300 over 1,500 miles in North Texas.

Is there truly no cruise control resume without EAP

Definitely should. I'd try the standard reset then call support if that doesn't work. I've used it every day since discovering it.

Reduced price Autopilot & FSD for existing owners announced March 1st

I am in the exact same situation. To test, I cancelled my trial and I'll see if the reduced price shows online. I'll report back what I find.

Is there truly no cruise control resume without EAP

Seems like I'm living in bizarro world, because today MY CAR HAS CRUISE CONTROL RESUME. Summary - Yes, EAP (TACC) does provide cruise control resume. Let me preface this by saying I had initially declined the trial of EAP (I had a loaner for two weeks prior to purchase and didn't like it on...

    5% Power Increase = ???

The good news is there’s no way to loose getting more power for free! We all win.
  31. A

    5% Power Increase = ???

Of course it reaches peak power faster than an ICE, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the direct 1:1 correlation you're asserting.
  32. A

    5% Power Increase = ???

That's already significantly cutting into SageBrush's time, which is exactly what I'm saying. If you're going to use physics calculations to determine an outcome, you can't pick and choose what variables you want to include. He's excluding numerous factors ranging from rolling resistance, wind...

    5% Power Increase = ???

Assuming you're not trolling, there is a point of diminishing returns that anybody who understands performance cars knows about. My 460hp Corvette does 0-60 in something like 3.4 seconds. My 650 hp Viper does 0-60 in about 3.1 seconds, yet it has about 40% more power. By your calculations my...

Is there truly no cruise control resume without EAP

The hyperbolic aspect is exactly, and only, what I was referencing. Acceleration amounts are subjective. I agree I've been in vehicles that I thought accelerated faster than they should, as well as slower. That being said, "flooring" it is not subjective - it's 100% throttle, and yes - no car...
  35. A

    5% Power Increase = ???

This is crazy flawed. Power is up 5%, not acceleration. A percentage increase in power is not proportional to the same increase in acceleration. Not even close.
  36. A

Is there truly no cruise control resume without EAP

You have never been in a car that "floored" it by hitting CC resume. Not a single car ever made has performed this way.

    New EAP Trial Stuck Forever

Same here. Happened 5 out of 6 days. Today I was given the option to restart the trial (which I previously denied), just to see if that would make it stop. We'll see. I agree that this probably won't be resolved until we get a new update.

AutoPilot Trial Update install every single morning.

Happening to a lot of people right now (as well as in Oct '18). No known resolution, even from Tesla support.

    Alert pop-up won't go away

Same here. Called Tesla support and one thing that does NOT work, is powering down the car to completely clear the cache and partially downloaded updates. This didn't work, so I'll have to call support back later. This is now happened 5 days in a row, and a soft-reset is the only thing to clear...

    Energy app equivalent

I've used both TeslaFi (best web-based tool) and Stats, but am not a fan of TeslaFi's drain by doing the constant polling. You can set the polling intervals, and define sleep times, but it's still just a bit much of a drain for me to justify. I've seen no drain from Stats and prefer the mobile...

Climate setting from app - seat warmers

According to the app (which again could be wrong), all the seats are heated. Clicking them all off (except for the driver seat), closing the app, then returning - shows them all back on again. I don't want the rear seat heaters on, as I have car seats with seat protectors, and there's no reason...

Should I be upset about receiving a 2018 car?

The VIN contains the production date (not delivery date). This date is one of the many metrics used in determining resale value. Tesla may not build directly off model year, but the rest of the world uses this to determine value.
  45. A

Should I be upset about receiving a 2018 car?

Same exact thing happened with me. I was told (and has so far proven correct) that the last P3D's built were in December. The January line were non-Performance models and the February line (which does include Performance) is heading overseas. March will pick back up the P3D for US, so expect...

    White Seats and Jeans...

Couple points here: Don't use alcohol or other harsh chemical. Yes, it will remove the transfer better, but also strip the protective coatings on the seats. Use as an absolute last resort. The blue dye issue relates directly to the quality of the dye/fabric used in the jeans. My wife and I wear...

    Tunein

Any idea on whether using your own TuneIn premium account is any different from using the built in one provided by Tesla? I've heard that it's not allowed for Tesla and the subscriptions are being refunded to those that purchased them. Anyone have any first hand experience with this?

I actually like my Model 3 better than a model Model S

I'm in a P100D with Ludicrous while I'm waiting on my P3D to be delivered (they missed my delivery date and I had sold my car based on that original date). Still prefer the P3D.
