Do Aero wheel tires really need to be XL spec

Not sure which year model you are using on TireRack, but when I punch in 2018 M3 AWD LR, I do not have the option of anything under 98 XL load rating. Punching in a newer year M3 does show SL option. Also my door jamb shows 40 PSI, and the software on the car's safety/TPMS section is...

What does that mean? Offset of what?

Do Aero wheel tires really need to be XL spec

I am asking because I was reviewing the spec of the 2018 Model 3 LRAWD 18 wheels and the 2019 Honda Clarity Plugin Hybrid Base (which also sports 18" wheel). They both use the same tire sizes (235/45R18), the speed rating and the load weight seem to be different, but both the vehicle are 4050+...

How to purge air for nitrogen

Wow, the sarcasm on this was next level. Thanks for that.

Rumbling noise with balanced wheels and normal alignment

Be sure to keep an eye on the tire pressure. I used to run them at recommended cold temp of 42 PSI, but neglected to reduce the pressure in the summer. I had recalled one of my trips topping 47 PSI on a hot summer day. Never again. I am going to run 40 PSI going forward for an even wear.

Rumbling noise with balanced wheels and normal alignment

I just went through this entire problem. same issue. same helicopter noise that was a result of wear. for me the wear was slightly uneven in the rears (the tread in the center was more worn), probably over-inflation. Just got new tires installed at 28k miles (my alignment was fine). Noise is gone.

How to purge air for nitrogen

To everyone asking if this will cost me anything: NO, the nitrogen inflation is free and it will be DIY. I just want to make sure I don't damage the tires if I purge them down to that amount. Seems like it shouldn't so I will go ahead and do this today.

How to purge air for nitrogen

I just got new tires. They were not inflated with Nitrogen. I have Costco membership and will be stopping by to inflate with nitrogen. I keep reading that I should purge tires until 3psi and then inflate with nitrogen. I'm not feeling exactly confident about purging nearly 37 PSI out of the...

    M3 Alignment+Tires after 5 years

I recently watched a YouTube video which shows all three should be adjustable with the right set of tools! What am I missing? Here is the YouTube video for reference: The rears didn't wear evenly, one was slightly worse than the other, the tech did tell/show me, I just don't remember. There...

    M3 Alignment+Tires after 5 years

I haven't had them being put on, yet. Just came on Saturday. Figuring out where to take them for install. FYI, the new tires are 9.5~10/32 tread depth and look amazing. Going back to the alignment though, I think the alignment could be tweaked but I'm not an alignment expert here and posted my...

    M3 Alignment+Tires after 5 years

So my 2018 M3 LR AWD will be 5 years old this November. Recently started hearing weird road noise, which I thought was related to the recent work that they did (rear drive unit failed, they replaced it). I took it back (walk-in), had a tech with me on a test drive in my car, I demonstrated the...

    GREEN EZ Pass

Hi, You seem to be the only one here who is a NYC resident who was able to obtain a NYSTA e-zpass account. How did you go about doing this. I am in need of getting an NYSTA account as well. I am cancelling my PANYNJ E-ZPass account and preparing to get the NYSTA one. However, most people here...

    GREEN EZ Pass

Ok now I am even more confused. I will most likely get an MTA E-ZPass due to my address. I am not sure doing any of what i have done so far will be able to get me an internal green tag. Is there any one here who does have a MTA (it would read Triboro Bridges and Tunnels Authority or MTA Bridges...

    GREEN EZ Pass

Ok so I am in the process of closing my PANYNJ E-ZPass account. I have so far learned that there are three total authorities... PANYNJ (which has the $1 monthly fee) NYSTA (which is what the fellow above me has) MTA/TBTA (MTA Bridges and Tunnels Authority or now known as Triborough Bridges and...

    GREEN EZ Pass

So let me get this straight. I would have to cancel my MTA/PA EZPass account and apply online again at e-zpassny.com ? And then request the tags again for the clarity and the model 3 ? How would I know that the new account won't be defaulted to Port Authority of NY instead of the NYSTA as you...

NY EZpass - Internal Green pass tag

Back in 2018/2019 I faced a lot of bureaucracy and wasn't able to receive an internal green pass tag. What is the consensus these days. Are TM3 owners able to successfully receive an internal GreenPass Tag from the MTA now? It was a breeze when I did this for Toyota Prius, and I have since...

    Geico & Windshield Replacement

I am now apparently in the same boat in NY and GEICO told me the same thing about labor rate of $40/hour. If you were able to get GEICO to cover your entire replacement/repair bill, please let me know and I'd like to build the case that the precedence was set that they cover the repair wholly...

    Using E-ZPass on M3

so basically, the pool of responses here indicate that people are just relying on interior tags they received for another vehicle (which they either traded in or don't drive anymore), or dont have NY E-ZPass... Wonderful... If there is someone in the same boat as me and has tried and received...

    Using E-ZPass on M3

I don't have a problem with taking the E-Zpass that I use in my other car and sticking it in the Tesla. And yes it will work. But why should I? What if both my vehicles need to travel through an e-zpass toll facility at the same time and both are green vehicles (and yes they are both green...

    Using E-ZPass on M3

Ever since I've noticed that the M3 qualifies for a Green Pass (NY/NJ Bridges and Toll reduced prices for offpeak usage in Green Vehicles), I applied for an interior tag to be used in my M3. Now the problem is that E-ZPass sent me an exterior tag. I returned and asked them to send an interior...
