Is the overheat protection only for human comfort or are there other important reasons to keep the interior below 105 degrees F?

I can not turn overheat protection on when I have intrusion protection turned on when leaving the car? How come? Do I have to turn car intrusion protection off if I want to use this feature? @anyone?
