i'm trying to imagine how the plastic collar gets in the way.... ?

ah.. got it. Did you fix it, i.e. get rid of the plastic collar?

Nah, it’s ok I can get the three pins partially in at an angle, which is sufficient to draw power!
Anyway, who knows - I might need the collar one one day at a caravan park.
The Model 3 charges at 22km per hour - which is plenty of juice for the 9 hour off peak/super off peak rates between 10pm & 7am
