20% AC usage from New Orleans to Houston?

Used to drive in the North where I barely use AC. Used to losing 30-40% range to heat from -20 to +20.

Can someone from the South confirm it’s normal that my SOC at arrival moves from 28% to 12% if I turn in AC and set it to 22Celsius when it’s 37Celsius outside?

Probably it’s totally normal but just want to confirm.
