2014 model s driver door handle presents but cant open the door

Did anyone ever find a reasonably priced solution to the 'sticky' door handle? I have heard some have paid Tesla up to $1,000 to fix.
Its my 2014 S Driver side door. I hesitate to buy "used" parts and have someone to replace them, because most sell "used" parts and if original Tesla parts, they too will fail at some point.

Your advice? ANYONE find a reasonably priced solution? I am a 86 Senior and do not plan on ever buying another car or Tesla as it only has 56k miles on it and only drive occasionally. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

As far as I've heard, assuming you have a gen2 handle you can get the kit with switches and pawl for like $20 on Amazon or I've heard it's about $300 for Tesla to come out and upgrade you to gen3.

If you have already have a gen3 handle then you might get away with just a calibration from the service menu.
