2020.40.8 Performance MY no range update

We def got the range update, mine went up after 40.8. Your not getting the 300 advertised because our batteries have degraded. Im at 382, was 370s before.

??? 382? I'd love to be getting 382 miles per charge.

Just updated 2020.40.3 --> 2020.40.8, it went from 288 to 285

I'm feeling the concern like rest of you (the famous range anxiety). The keyword here is "estimate". The battery didn't get more capacity over a software upgrade. Tesla improved motors efficiency, thus we are getting more mileage.

For example, your driving habit have been using 250 wh/mi, the 40.8 update might lower it to 245 wh/mi.

72,000 usable battery capacity / 250 = 288 miles
72,000 usable battery capacity / 245 = 293 miles

For my own personal test, I estimated to have ~71kWh usable capacity when I first got it, but I have seen others have 72kWh

.8 is a strange update. According to teslafi there are 40% of the perf’s that are still on .3. Would be nice to know if the new perf’s have updated hardware since tesla.com doesn’t give an estimated delivery on the perf’s at the moment.

when I drive her properly I get about 250 mi out of a full charge. I love it!
