30 Amp RV Outlet Question

So camping with the Tesla, it was a 30 Amp RV hookup:

I had my TMC with the 50 Amp 14-50 pigtail that came with it. I was given this adapter by a friend to use:

(Amazon Link)

When I got there, I tried it and the charger got no power...I tried several neighboring 30 AMP hookups, with no luck. Then the camp let me move to a 50 Amp spot and I was able to plug directly in with success. So I deduced it to the adapter (?)

So next time I get a 30 Amp hookup with this outlet, how can I make it work with the TMC?

That video answers the questions... here's the actual adapter:

$80.

In short, the adapters for RVs and the adapters for EVs are wired differently. Neither will work for the other use. Get one labeled for EV use and limit the charge rate to 24a and it would work fine.

The EVSEadapters link above is nice because it will limit charging rate to the max that 30a outlet can handle. One less thing to get wrong, or worry about if you let someone else plug the car in.
