800 Volt Cars on Current Supercharger Network??

I'm no electrical engineer, but couldn't Tesla make 800V cars by essentially having two 400V packs that can be charged on legacy Superchargers and then have a contractor that puts them in series after Supercharging stops?

You may not gain any charging speed benefits, but the car itself can benefit from the high voltage architecture.
