We are Tesla owners who met recently at Tesla Road Trip May 2016 in Williamsburg Virginia. With much in common, but most importantly sharing a love for Tesla, its mission, and everything it stands for, we hit it off and started planning vacations together. What better way to merge our interests in travel, hiking, and adventure with our passion for electric vehicles (EV) and green energy than to vacation in Switzerland, driving around the alps in a rented Tesla Model S, quietly accelerating in spacious luxury while having fun and leaving no local emissions in that beautiful environment.

Wow, great story! Thanks for posting. Sounds like it was easy to travel around Switzerland in a Model S. And I'm sure the hiking was wonderful.

How many days were you there, and did you each have to be careful not to take too much luggage so you could be sure everything for 4 people would fit in the car? I assume you rented a Dual Motor car so the frunk was smaller than the RWD frunk.

We all arrived in Zurich on Saturday 9/3 and got the car early on Sunday 9/4. We returned the car early on Saturday 9/10 in Zurich. So we were there for a week (one person was already in Europe on business so they had more baggage).

It was a dual motor car and we were able to squeeze everything into the mini-frunk, "basement" and trunk. We figured if
we had to we could fold down a portion of the rear seat but we never had to resort to that trick.

Yikes! And then on top of that you had to pay high European prices for gasoline! Oh wait, you didn't...
