That's a really great video. He comes to all the same conclusions my spreadsheet has but he puts the info into a very concise and well executed video. I'd advise anyone contemplating investing into Lucid to watch this vid, huge immense red flags galore.

Personally I hope Lucid survives, but no way am I betting any of my money on it. They just have too far to improve yet, and time is not on their side with the cash burn they currently have.

I got a call from yesterday about finalizing my Lucid Air Pure order. They said that if I don't finalize my order in 30 days they will bump up the price. They also don't know if I will get the $7500 incentive even after me confirming my reservation which it was my understanding will lock the $7500 in. They said to receive the $7500 car this year which is not happening. I am also disappointed that the AWD pure is only 480hp vs the Models S at 670hp. I was considering buying the car and putting it on Turo but with the way my portfolio is looking now days thanks to the Tesla sell off I don't think I can.

I was considering trading my 3 for a Pure AWD and had the early price as well. I cancelled about a month ago for a few reasons, but I still am holding out that they're able to succeed in the long run.

I've heard some people say that a Saudi investment in Lucid is reason enough to avoid Lucid. My thinking is, would we prefer that they or other oil-related entities NOT fund green transportation and industries?

It's not 'just' the oil. It's also stuff like this:

And Saudi Arabia currently has a score of 7/100 from Freedom House.

Is there anyone on this forum that would like to live in a country like that?...

China is just as repressive as Saudi Arabia, if not more so.

Very few people bring up China's human rights record in regards to Tesla's partnership with the Shanghai government and China in general.

Or in regards to Chinese owned brands like Polestar and Volvo.

Or Chinese National Government affiliated brands like MG.

The fact the China represses and kills in the name of atheism and science doesn't make it any better.

I wouldn't want to live in China.

I haven't read much on this forum the last four years. I agree that China is basically equally bad as Saudi Arabia. I also agree about brands like MG and Volvo/Polestar/Lotus.

China currently has a score of 9/100 from Freedom House:

Can you back that statement somehow? It seem to me that China represses and kills because it's a Military Dictatorship.

You are kidding right?

China's dictatorship is run by the Chinese Communist Party not the Army.

And it especially represses and kills Muslims and Christians.

The CCP sends Muslims and Christians to camps to be "re-educated."

They are forced to renounce their religion and accept CCP dogma.

Which affirms Atheism and Science as the guiding principles in life and society.

The Chinese version of "Scientific Socialism."

I see a lot of people here at TMC praise the CCP because most of the Chinese legislators/ bureaucrats have science based degrees. Instead of law and administration like the legislators/bureaucrats in the West.

Too me this is just semantics. How would the Chinese Communist Party be able to continue their rule whiteout their monopoly on violence? And that monopoly on violence includes their military.

How did this happen? Did General Secretary Zhao Ziyang and the rest of the CCP's standing committee carry out that massacre by themselves?...

I am an Atheist and the Chinese Communist Party is as detached from me as anything else that is morally detestable.

But in order for me to continue this discussion I would have to go into religion itself, but that is not allowed according to this forum's Terms of Service...

Sorry, but this is a discussion that I am not allowed to have here...

This is false. What they do, like all oppressive governments, is in the name of power, nothing more. "Atheism" is simply the lack of belief, it's not a movement, philosophy, form of government, or, obviously, religion. They'll just as quickly kill an atheist if they see them as a threat.

By your definition all dictatorships are military non-ideological dictatorships then.

The CCP's main tool of repression is law enforcement.

The stated goal of the CCP and their professed ideology isn't just a matter of semantics.

"I am an Atheist "

This is the heart of the matter isn't it.

You want to put all the "bad" people in the "rightwing nationalist" or "religious fanatic" box.

The "secular left" box only has "good people."

The people that run China are on the secular atheist Left and are bad people.

But if we don't engage atheist and religious dictatorships we will not solve the climate crisis. We all live on the same planet.
