I love my Model Y, but I absolutely hate that “light touch open/close” cover on the original console. Either it opens when I barely touch it and I didn’t mean to open it (ok, half the time it’s my small dog’s paw), or I go to close it as I’m getting out of the car and apparently am too impatient to touch it lightly enough, and have to try 2-3 times to get it to stay closed. It’s really irritating. It’s so annoying that I keep nothing inside that area (other than the Jeda hub). Which also makes it a waste of space. Anyone find an alternative? Or a way to change it to disable that annoying light touch mechanism?

Same problem. I installed these and put the center one just a hair towards the back so that it catches and won’t open without a stiff push.

Practice opening and closing, it likes to be lightly closed, and to open is a quick push... maybe it's defective?>
Don't set anything down on the closed lid of the flip up cover on the center console. I have done this after carefully freeing a snug fitting cup of coffee from the cupholder as I get ready to exit my Model Y. The cover started to open.
