Thought a graph of tonight's journey will help illustrate.

I did it in two legs, with a stop for a pee and a bit of netflix in the middle while it refilled. Both legs were traffic-free motorway driving

The first hour (18:00 - 19:00) I "made good progress" ~70mph average. You'll see it used roughly 35% of the battery (85%->50%)
The second hour (19:30 - 20:30 ) I drove a leisurely average 60mph. This used a lot less of the battery, 20% (90%->70%).

The orange power bars also illustrate the difference. The first hour reached a high of ~200kW (capped at 50kW in the graph to not distort it) while the second hour's max didn't go above ~25kW
