Are NC personal property taxes included in the cost of a Model 3?

I’m using this thread as an opportunity to make my first post. We are moving to North Carolina in the beginning of July and reserved a M3 with a potential mid August delivery. Just wanted to say thanks for the information on the NC tax situation which I will use to plan for delivery day. Thanks again everyone.

we're lucky in AZ. EV's waived from VLT for now (till 2022 I believe). It's one reason I would never buy a new non EV luxury car here in AZ

You're lucky in TX. No state income tax and flat fee car registration. I know property taxes are really high, but you can always buy a smaller house (and buck the trend!)

When I moved to Ohio from Arizona, I was pleasantly surprised by how low vehicle registration taxes were here. But starting this year, there's an extra $200 for any vehicle that plugs in. ($100 for non plug-in hybrids.)

Yes, per year. So far as I know, it went into effect Jan 1 of this year.

so Looks like my 2020 purchase saved me another $1K on the 5 yr plate. I hope they change for the better by 2024....
