We're working with some engineers at Harmar (Harmar) to evaluate custom and/or future product offerings for using accessibility/disability mobility scooters with the Tesla Model 3. Request: Harmar is located in Sarasota, FL, and I'm hoping a Tesla Model 3 owner in the area might be able and willing to coordinate with Harmar to allow them to evaluate the shape of the vehicle (take measurements, maybe put it up on a lift to inspect the undercarriage to see what the region behind the wheels looks like, etc.). This is the scooter we're considering: Transformer Scooter Homepage Regarding trunk lift installations: Regarding external hoist: Harmar - AL065 2018 Tesla Model 3 Stealth EcoHitch We've also explored the idea of a hitch-mounted lifted for external transport. This has two problems: (1) lift + scooter is uncomfortably close to Torklift's recommended "10-15% below 200 lb. rating of ball" and (2) "waterproof" is apparently something that scooter manufacturers are just beginning to consider relevant (read: few offerings, each with additional issues). Sorry for the longish post. Thanks for taking a look.
