Attaching Toll Transponder

The Illinois iPass transponder will not work with a Tesla S windshield. The external transponder attached to the front license plate is ugly and obtrusive.
Anyone had an experience in attaching a toll transponder somewhere under the S grill? If so, how did you do it?

That sounds like a good solution. On a different note, I wonder how much longer that toll plazas will actually use transponders? For the past 5 years out in California, they have been using license plate cameras to deduct money from toll accounts. A much better and cheaper method. Now that I think about it, I haven't seen any manual money collection booths on some of those toll crossings.

It won't work anywhere on the windshield which is why I have to put it outside the car

I also found that the windshield mount only worked about 25% of the time. I put mine on the second panel of the sunroof right behind the middle support. Fortunately haven't had to go through any tolls since I did that though.

Tesla left the lower right corner bare for this purpose. That is where my transponder is located and it reads 100% on several different roads including the Illinois tollways.
