I hope this might be useful in case anyone else has the same issue... I was getting quite severe phantom braking the last few months, as well as the "Red hands / Cruise not available" messages at times. It seemed to be worse around hills.
I discussed with the Edinburgh service center who have been really impressive. They asked me to note the times when the issue occurred and then diagnosed over the air. A few weeks later they booked me in for an appointment at the service center where they fitted a camera shim and did an autopilot camera calibration. So far it seems much better!
