AWD (545XX) Delivery - Minor Cosmetic Issues

Long story short. Took delivery of my Red AWD Model 3 today. AMAZING car and so fun to drive. There's a few cosmetic issues that I noticed when I got home. Figured I'd share them here in case anyone ran into similar experiences and can share if Tesla was able to address them.

1) Driver Side Tail Light - Condensation: https://i.imgur.com/CUd0sw9.jpg
  • This one seemed to have disappeared when I took the car out for a second drive. Will keep an eye on it.

2) Scratch or hard residue on glass roof - https://i.imgur.com/HmxaGSR.jpg

3) Left side of steering wheel has crunched leather that's spilling out. Right side is perfectly flush and smooth. - https://i.imgur.com/wo3XSl0.jpg

4) One of the rubber seals on the glass roof seems to have some overhang - https://i.imgur.com/4roEy5Z.jpg

5) Area between the glass and trunk lid when the trunk gets lifted is filled with dust/dirt - https://i.imgur.com/tQWoeca.jpg

6) White paint spots in the panel crevice - https://i.imgur.com/10ogmFM.jpg

7) White paint spots in the area of the trunk when lifted - https://i.imgur.com/bNvyUK0.jpg

I couldn't capture a good picture, but one issue I found at delivery which the service center is addressing on Monday when I bring it back in (wanted to play with the car this weekend ;) ) was some weird small little bead-like object found its way underneath the clear coat and paint. Upon further inspection, there were a few more instances (mainly on the rear panels of the car). So they're going to take the car to the body & paint shop for fixing which they say will take 2-3 days.

I figured while it's there, issues 6 & 7 can get easily addressed since they're also paint issues.

As far as the panels go. To my untrained eye, everything looks pretty aligned to me. Didn't notice any glaring issues to be honest. For someone more experienced with pointing out panel issues, happy to take some photos if you tell me what areas of the car to photograph :)

Only thing that caught my eye was my Frunk - https://i.imgur.com/8DRWw8A.jpg Seems like the right side has a tighter gap than the left side. But in my opinion it's extremely minor and something I can live with.

Congrats on car ! For item #1 this was a real issue for several years on model s and I had them fix as ever wash of car you would get that condensation ...looks like 3 has as well ;).....I would take in for that and have them address other issues

If those were the only issues in my delivery, I'd be perfectly happy with it.

On other news, Tesla called me today and told me that the vehicle didn't pass inspection (about 45 minutes before the original appointment time) so...I don't get a delivery today.

If this is a major issue requiring a new VIN, I'm going to try to convince the wife to let me upgrade to a P....:D

*edit*

Wife said....YES! So she can stop hearing me whine about how much I should've gotten the P lol....

P's are overpriced and overrated. You should save money and get AWD and then post videos in my thread.

I very much understand this, but seeing that they were just about to deliver my car, I'm doubtful they will actually let me upgrade to the P unless that extra profit really encourages them to.

Plus I live next to tons of superchargers so I'd effectively get free fuel for life the vehicle which is worth at least half the upgrade cost.

I wish Deuce24 would post more videos too...

I was being sarcastic. lol. they'll let you upgrade. are you getting the 20's too?

Great documentation! I'll be curious to hear if you/or Tesla does anything about the steering wheel? I feel like since you probably look at stuff in the car more often then out, that would be the one that bothers me the most personally.

Good luck on the steering wheel. Mine has the scrunching on the other side. They've been trying to source a new one for me for two weeks but everyone in the parts warehouse has some sort of stretched material defect. They said they might just take it off the demo car at this point.
